Re: Is this forum dead ?

Everything would be better if there were normal active moderators on this forum. On my Russian-language forum Ageod, I communicate with each user, help newbies, clean and combine similar topics, organize MP games. And here you can see no moderator work, unfortunately ... I check the forum daily. Be...

Steve, Good to see you. How are the Lakes? I hardly come here. Just Pocus pointed me here the other day. I remembering maybe 25 years ago a trip I took to Lake Placid with my wife. We got a canoe from the hotel, and was out on the water in the early hours of the morning. There was this thin mist fr...

Fess Parker starred in two Civil War films, The Great Locomotive Chase (1956) and Springfield Rifle (1952). He also starred in a film set in 1859, Jayhawker (1959) and one set in 1869, Thunder Over the Plains (1953).

RCMP Recruitment

I am playing the 1850 GC with the latest patch. Playing as the UK, I do not seem to be able to recruit the RCMP unit. I have played up to 1860 and all of the Canadian provinces do not allow the unit recruitment.

Re: Ageod Announces English Civil War!

This project sounds exciting. I wonder if the game will include the American theatre? Maybe an off-the-map box. During the Civil War, there were four colonies: Virginia, Maryland, Connecticut and Massachusetts. New York and Pennsylvania did not yet exist being New Netherlands and New Sweden respecti...

The Swiss, Dutch (United Provinces), Danish and Swedish flags all date from before the time of WoS and so their modern flags can be used,

The point that was trying to make was that your claim that half of the Peninsula Army was sent to North America was incorrect. In 1814, 16 bn of the army were sent to NA. Of these, two bn were able to return to Europe in time for Waterloo. At Waterloo, there were 23 British bn, of which 20 were Peni...

AH! But the Brits were at their peak in the 1812-1815 period, esp. Waterloo, despite most of the Peninsular veterans being shipped to Canada and some in transit, the remaining English were lavishly equipped and the Cavalry had the best mounts in Europe. Uxbridge's confidence in his cavalry stemmed ...

Don't you find it a bit strange that the only vaguely Napoleonic program on the TV, I'm talking Freesat here, still quite a few channels though, is this Napoleon program? I haven't found anything yet about Waterloo. Not even a showing of the clasic film :( Are we not allowed to celebrate our past a...

Napoleon on the BBC

Tonight, BBC2 started a two part series on Napoleon. The series is narrated by historian Andrew Roberts. What makes this series unusual is that it portrays Napoleon favourably. This is most unusual for a British production. None of this 'Corsican Ogre' treatment.

What is the format required? CW2 used the data from AACW and my memory does not stretch back that far. Also, there will be a character number limit. What is it, as this can be a problem for the British regiments, ie The 32nd Duke of Cornwall Light infantry Regiment?
