Re: Pride of Nations has been updated to Version 1.04.5!

Siegfroh, if ;you think the PON concepts are great, I do not see why you are opposing the idea of giving them a fresh try with a new system that Pocus has said is much easier to work with, more modern, and much faster. A system that could make it much more likely that the potential of these concepts...

Re: Pride of Nations has been updated to Version 1.04.5!

The patch won't solve all the issues of PON/the aged AGE engine, sorry gents. It has been done with spare time (and I know this news can be distressing) and only because Loki helped on events and data. But I believe it improved several things though... I can't promise anything, but if Loki continue...

Re: Have Developers Abandoned WoN?

It is indeed difficult to see any remain of BA2 engine in the current engine, except perhaps in a few behind the scene file names. For the rest, defintively different. Hopefully we can start giving you more details in late september. Thanks for the answer, which reassures me. But, I have to confess...

Re: Heading for a clear bright sun

I like how you have used scripting to resolve the serious issues PON still has with peace treaties, especially when multiple nations are involved. The peace terms you scripted fits perfectly with the outcome of the war and the political realities of your AAR. It will be fascinating to see how relati...

@Husaria & @vaalen: are you running a pre-1.04.5 or a post-1.04.5 campaign? Is the problem still here with a new campaign? @loki100 : however there are posts about it dated of 2012 ( http://www.ageod-forum.com/viewtopic.php?p=253388#p253388 and http://www.ageod-forum.com/viewtopic.php?p=239279#...

Re: walking on water in the Black Sea, and other strange events

Loki, I think you have figured it out. It could be that the Russians sent troops by river transport into the Western Black sea, and that my land army, which should have been disembarking in Odessa, may have run into said Russians, and the engine committed them to fight the Russians, with both sides ...

walking on water in the Black Sea, and other strange events

I am playing Britain, and fighting the Crimean war against Russia, with the latest patch installed. Some rather strange things have been happening in the Black sea. My fleets in the Western Black Sea area have fought and won several battles....against Russian land units. No Naval units involved on th...

Re: Heading for a clear bright sun

Terrific description of the war, both in prose and with the use of screenshots. Nice job of taking Constantinople. I have found Paskievitch to be a very successful general. It looks like he is doing a good job for you as well. I too am greatly impressed with the evacuation by the AI. The way it coor...

Enjoying the Crimean War, finally! Thanks, new patch.

I installed the latest patch and continued to play an ongoing game as England. The first thing I noticed was that France declared war on Russia, which was already embroiled in a war with Turkey. This meant that I would not be fighting Russia with just Turkey as an ally if I joined in. I did not get ...

My problem is just trying to figure out how to play a winning hand. I lost a high prestige but low intensity encounter with Mexico after they insulted one of my diplomats. Re: Graphics issues

Just to be clear, I think the overall appearence of the map is very tasteful and quite attractive. I particularly like that it draws its inspiration from the feel of antique maps. Too many art departments just grind out another glitzy computer game with inappropriate modern computer graphics. Phili...

Hi Tallebois, I never had Alpha Centauri, but I agree that something like that should be included in every computer game. With todays tech, it would probably work better. Re: Graphics request as to the map

The map is set for WSS and will remain in the many colours scheme you like. As for ECW, I personally like the map which is in the 17th century spirit..the only issue IMHO is that it is slightly too big and the counters and sprite seem lost among it, but at least this is very easy to manipulate. Wel...

This is the bad consequence of an "improvement". Initially, tooltips had only white on black colour scheme and that was overall fine. Now, following improvement, tooltips can use colours of all kinds. In general the colours you see are those of nations secondary/flavour colours and some o...

Acessibility in pop up lettering

Please make the popups easy to read, by using letters that contrast well with the black background. In other words, please do not use gray lettering on black, or dark blue on black, or any other combination that lacks contrast. The traditional Ageod color scheme of orange on black works fine, and is...

Graphics request as to the map

The screenshots shown some time ago are beautiful, and evoke the kind of map that so many of us AGEOD fans know and love. Please keep this map design, and please do not make it drab, as in the style of ECW. The beauty and features of the maps are very important to the immersion factors in these games.

Graphics issues

I have two issues with the graphics in this game. The first is the use of gray lettering on black that is used for popups on Royalist units and some other features. Good to see that General Winter is starting to win the war. One of the best parts of PON is how it really shows the vital importance of terrain, weather, and supply. I predict it will not be too long before the frozen, starved remnants of Wellingtons army load up their transports and beat a shameful...

I installed the patch to the correct directory.

Yet, when I start the game, it still shows the version as 1.01.

Yet, when I went to the update folder that shows when I click on the English Civil War folder, it shows a changelog for 1.03.

Have I successfully installed the patch?

Nice touch to have Flashman as chief of staff. I particularly enjoyed the dialogue of Wellington. It sounded just like him, based on what I have read, which I must admit includes a number of novels about a certain impossible to kill rifleman... The dialogue was not only entertaining, it was a nice w...

The information on what was produced by the farms of John and Isaac was fascinating. Re: Stars Fell on Alabama - An America AAR

As for reducing strikes, riots, and revolts, usually stationing troops in a region will help, and I think it may help more if the troops are actually in the cities. I am not sure about this, though, as Pocus said it should make no difference if the troops are in the region or in the cities. If I hav...
