Re: The latest patch has greatly imporved the game.

Partly agree, I'm having to rethink my colonial strategy, not least I think that getting to 35% is going to be slower. But missionaries are cheap and anything that reduces the need to deal with constant revolts is to be welcomed. I find missions invaluable as supply sources for my explorers, or for...

Re: The latest patch has greatly imporved the game.

some observations. Turn processing is now excellent. I think that RuS or Civil War2 now are slower - at least early game. The only state that seems to create 'odd' wars is France. So far in my game its managed to get into wars with the CSA (1850) and California (1851). I ended both by script. The d...

Re: Ageod Announces English Civil War!

Actually it is even more complex than the expanded system in the sense that you have to count only on yourself and be careful all the way :papy: Absolutely true. And there are a lot of fine points you have to pay attention to or your army will melt away and lose its ability to fight. And this adds ...

Ah, this is getting even better with the integration of the PON screenshots and interface.

This is so far my favorite AAR of all time, and I continue to check every day.

Will the Marquis of Montrose be in it? And will there be a scenario about his "year of miracles"?

Regardless, I am in, of course.

Re: The latest patch has greatly imporved the game.

Loki, your prediction about AI Russia becoming a power to fear actually happened in my game. They declared war on Turkey, and conquered nearly every Ottoman province in Europe, and some in Asia. The game would give me glimpses of some of the battles as they occurred, enough to see the numbers involv...

The latest patch has greatly imporved the game.

I am now on turn 225 of an 1850 campaign as France, and I have noticed some substantial improvements since patch 1.04.3. War. The invincible doom stack is gone. The million man doomstack, which the AI used to create in European wars, and which could not be directly defeated, is thankfully gone. Ther...

Re: immortal replacements bug

I tend to clear the caches ... in theory the new builds should be set up with this done and recreated but it seems a small precaution. The one you don't want to clear is the map cache .. unless you fancy a 2 hour loading experience Loki, thanks for the information, and the warning about clearing th...

Re: immortal replacements bug

You're very welcome, glad to be of some help the PON community. I would suggest that deleting the cache should be included in the installation instructions for updates in all AGEOD titles. As I recall doing so has been suggested in the past, I certainly did not think of this on my own, but in my op...

Bravo, Random!

Your solution worked, and replacements are now working exactly as they should.

Thank you for providing this solution, I truly appreciate it. But this generous action is typical of the way you have given your invaluable help to so many of us over the years.

Hi Random,

No, i did not delete those files before installing the patch.

Thank you so much for this suggestion. I will give it a try.

I am glad you are not seeing the problem in your game.

Yes, I am using 1.04.3. I probably started this game after installing 1.04.3, but I am certain that 1.04.3 was installed long before I noticed the bug.

Re: immortal replacements bug

Alas, I moved too far ahead in the game, my ally made peace, forcing me into peace, and I do not have any savegames that illustrate the problem.

I have sent a PM to Pocus. As you can tell from his very user name, he can do magic, so there is still hope.

How do you cancel a treaty? Answered.

I found the answer by mousing over the icons in the "existing treaty" part of the diplomatic interface.

If a treaty can be cancelled, you do it by left clicking on the icon. You can check by looking at the "treaties sent" part of the diplomatic interface.

immortal replacements bug

As France, in the grand campaign, with the latest patch, I have been fighting a long war with Austria. I noticed that battles would take place, in which each side would take over one hundred hits, and every unit would always be at full strength the next turn, if they were in supply. This seemed a bi...

I am not quite with you, yet. I am in daunting awe of the game, but I am still learning more than playing effectively. My major challenge is the complexity of the game. I am more used to marching my armies while neglecting their tail. So a game which is at heart the dynamic underpinnings of success...
