Re: Question - Breaking Siege

This is complicated. You have mostly outlined the issues and the problems. However, if you hold, say in a defensive stance, and you win the battle, you should maintain the siege, but no guarantee. You may need to win the battle and restart the siege. Yep, not simple. So you are saying that I would ...

Question - Breaking Siege

AJE Manual page 46 12.2 Laying Siege Laying siege to a structure can be a time-consuming process. It consists of a gradual wearing-down of the defender’s will to resist through attrition (i.e. starvation, disease, desertion, etc.). Combat is resolved by comparing the Siege Value of the besieging fo...

Question - Absorbing Replacements

The manual states page 158 21.1.2 ABSORBING REPLACEMENTS Replacement chits are used in two (2) ways: • absorbed into multiple elements that have each lost one or more strength points, • used to create entire battalion-sized elements that can be merged into Brigade Units that have lost an entire elem...

Question - Republican Mixed Brigades/Popular Army

The manual states page 165: 26. THE MIXED BRIGADES The Republican player has the choice beginning in October 1936 of buying the option of creating the Popular Army. This option fires the creation of several mixed brigades. These begin as empty brigades with just one transmission battalion inside but...

Display keeps reverting to "Use Desktop Resolution"

* Just got Espana 1936 * Game looks great. * However, on my current default screen resolution (1920 x 1080) some things are too small to read well * My default screen resolution is 1920 x 1080 * If I change Espana screen resolution drop down button to 1280 x 1024 * However, it keeps reverting to &qu...

RUS Gold - Number of Turns in Campaign

Saw on a Youtube video that it was 86 turns but that did not seem correct if the turns were biweekly or monthly from 1918-1922 ?

What are the turn durations & how many in the grand Campaign

Looking into several games on sale now on Steam.

I prefer long turn based campaigns

EAW - Number of Turns in Campaign

August 1914 till final victory or early January 1919
However, it states that it is 106 turns in a video i saw on Youtube?

If the turns are biweekly or monthly, that still does not add up.
Can somebody explain the # of turns?

I am looking to buy many titles while on sale :)

You seem to be oblivious of the contradictory nature of your entire debate. I'll even use your own example: If you presume that it's historically inaccurate that a single cavalry element would be able to take control of an ungarrisoned city as large as Richmond or Washington, or Philly, or any of th...

I said nothing about loyalty, it wasn't even part of the discussion. The point was that a single regiment of cav should not be able to gain military control of a city regardless of a garrison or even if it is empty in one turn. For example, if a cav unit from either side can pass thru or even just ...

Gray and Solo, you both just proved my point. The raiders did not CONTROL the town. The came for prisoners, money, supplies, and to destroy vital infrastructure, but they did not cause the town to switch from Union to CSA. They exerted no military control over the towns as happens now in the game. ...

Those who keep harping on this issue are wilfully ignoring what Gray & Solo(as well as many others) have clearly pointed out, and should re-read it again. The difference between what could be historically possible as compared to what was historically chosen is not synonymous. So, the only possible o...

So let me get this straight. You've been searching, waiting, dreaming for nearly your entire life looking for a game that by your very own criteria (some of which are diametrically opposed) making it nearly an unattainable Holy Grail quest. Moreover, whilst on your travels through the barren wastela...

It is very a very simple modification, just replace the 2 coastal arty models by the 2 provided here, in the ACW/Gamedata/Models folder You will see that the CP of coastal guns goes up beyond 200, but that is misleading, the fighting power of the unit remains the same, only that it is almost invuln...
