Re: Annexing holland, and disappearing turks

Have you moved a division in Holland? Without 'boots on the ground', such annexations cannot happen.

Capital cities and changes in government

Capital cities tend to be the focus of one's activity. However, playing as Rome mostly, when you evolve your government, invariably, another region than Latinum is chosen, though I would prefer to have Rome as capital. Am I missing something? Is there a way to move the capital back to Rome?

Re: A few quick questions as the Bourbons...

Is there a way to make the AI to a) buy more replacements and b) stop the single (or 2 or 3) regiment stacks running all over the map? I'm asking because I took a peak at the Grand Alliance side and their armies were grossly depleted despite being awash with money and recruits while these little sta...

Re: A few quick questions as the Bourbons...

at present, neither the colonial areas nor central Italy become accessible ever. Nikel, I don't you if you were speaking to me or Offworlder, but I had posted save files with bugs (line of Brabant never firing, duplicate Duchy of Savoy army, more concessions to Prussia never firing). I'm patiently ...

A few quick questions as the Bourbons...

Really enjoying the game but I got 2 questions regarding the Bourbons. They are formidable and even the semi decent generals and admirals can become decent generals with victories... So - 1) how does one activate the Brabant option? and 2) how does one invade Gibraltar? I can't march my army there n...

Very interesting! That means that strategic depth is assured.

BTW the mention of Seleukids…. :coeurs: One of my favourite factions! Hope the Argyraspids, Agema and elephants are there. Can't wait to come west trounce the upstarts from the Italian Peninsula and 'liberate' Greece....

Will leaders improve their stats by winning battles or possibly by running well a province? Or maybe become decadent because of over indulgence?

Re: Returning to the game...

Unfortunately even with cavalry chits in reserve, they still seem to be stuck in the loop. I don't even buy cavalry brigades as these never activate...very strange. However, single regiments seem to manage to come together, especially at the beginning of the game. Re partisans, I need to reassess my...

Returning to the game...

Returned to the game after a long time and need some heads up. I've seen Shaposhn...

Back at playing AJE... Caesar against Pompey

Returning to the game after a long hiatus....

Playing the Caesar-Pompey Civil War. There was a way in which Caesar could rapidly conquer Spain. What was it? Destroying all the mobile forces of the enemy? Or was it conquering certain strategic points?

Any ideas?

Re: Confusing Swedish Happening

Lend-Lease stacks are per treaty, and AFAIK and would expect, the treaty recipient will control those units for as long as the treaty is in affect. Were you able to control Swedish units prior to Sweden surrendering? I played the French side most, but expeditionary forces and fleets are permanent a...

Re: Confusing Swedish Happening

I had something similar happening with the Spanish. As France, one can actually take over the Spanish Fleet when allied at the beginning of the game. However, even when France turns upon the Spanish, the Spanish fleet that was taken over by the French, remains in French possession. It gradually with...

Re: French Strategy in Spain

Thanks Durk. In an indirect way you answered my question. Therefore Spain will remain a drain and the Franco-Spanish faction only a rather minor ally. Conquering the whole Peninsula doesn't turn it Ftanco-Spanish. Oh well, the die is cast and therefore I'll just pummel the Spanish until they give up...

Re: French Strategy in Spain

If you liberate the Franco-Spanish faction, in the past this meant basically giving them Madrid. Basically what I'm asking is related to what happens if as the French, you conquer the Iberian Peninsula. Do the conquered provinces become Franco-Spanish? Or do such provinces remain just occupied Frenc...

Re: French Strategy in Spain

Hi Durk Playing against the AI. Actually I already invaded Spain, so that is not the main issue. However, the best strategy to follow as the French invader is a bit murky in my mind. If I remember well, the Franco-Spanish faction gets only Madrid. However, if you conquer the whole Peninsula, does th...

French Strategy in Spain

So as the French, one gets the 'opportunity' to take over Spain. However, I'd like some opinions on the best way to deal with this theatre. In one of the information screens, you are told that conquering all cities in the Iberian peninsula, you would obtain a major victory. However, does this mean t...

Re: Now that WOS is Out...How About WON as 2-Player?

Actually I'd love to see certain feature from WOS implemented in WON. Having a less complex diplomatic approach would be one, maybe replaced with a system of cards. EX - Creation of the Rhineland Confederation, annexation of Holland and taking over Italy should result in basically taking over all it...
