Re: Fix for Missing Brest-Litovsk Fortress

Hey Random its been a while. Great to see you still involved with this great old game. Can't wait to see your changes. I have found some other issues some important and some cosmetic. If you are interested I have a word file which summarizes all I have done. A lot of it you will recognize as it actu...

Re: Economic Aid Question

Hey Random. Good to hear from you. I assume it is working as I could find nothing in the forums that would indicate it is not. I have tried to do just what you said give aid from Germany to Turkey and A-H to Turkey. The procedure I used was as follows: 1) Issued Aid from both countries to Turkey in ...

Economic Aid Question

I am having trouble seeing the results of giving Economic Aid. I know how to do it and see the amount given to a major power deducted from the giving power. What I cannot see is the given amount showing up on the receiving power's income. I given the aid in an interphase. I have checked the next tur...

Hey Chris good to hear from you. Sorry for my bad explanation of my problem. According to Section 14.3.1 page 70 you pick one of five combat tactics - T Cross the T, L Line of battle, C Column, A Circle Arc, or F Free Formation. The AI does the same and the results are cross referenced on the Tactic...

Naval Question

Back to WWIG again. This game and CIV IV are the only games that I ever have owned that I continually come back to. This time I am trying to learn the naval part of the game. I feel comfortable with everything else but this. So I have read through the rules and board game rules on naval matters and ...

Glad to see you still active with this great game. Any recent changes to the 1915/16 scenarios from what you gave me in 2014? Also the "Fixed Scenario.zip" file does not contain any files.

Hey Random Hope every thing is good. As usual thanks for the help. Funny but this game fascinates me. Cannot pull away from it completely. Love the connection with the board game. So if I read what you are saying correctly, all you have to do is purchase a u-boat and the game will automatically plac...

U-Boat Question

Have been rereading the rules for WWIG and as I mostly play the Entente have a question. How do U_Boats work for the CP? What I mean is that when you purchase them do they automatically join the the submarine war (assuming Germany has taken the political action submarine warfare) or do you have to p...

Opening Setup Question

Was looking at the Grand Campaign Two Detachments.xls and noticed that the German I, III, and IV armies contain 6-7-4s from the XI and XII German Armies. This is consistent with the board game setup by the way. None of these units show up in the game however. Was wondering if this was as designed or...

Back into the Game

I have come back to the game recently. Played it extensively last summer, real life interjected itself and I stopped. Getting back to it now. Taking a different approach this time. Reading through the Board Game Rules and then the corresponding Computer rules. Makes a lot more sense this way. Am now...

Off map boxes question

Today I was trying to get a better feel for where you can actually go when in an off map boxes. I looked at the Gold maps file named MapAreas.csv. Found a column titled "Jump Borders" and I think this is what I am looking for. Just to be sure, can someone help me as to exactly what the Jump Borders ...

So you use them as support units (like artillery)? Which means if you use assault troops you cannot use artillery?

Assault and Stosstrupen use

This may sound stupid but I am not sure how to use them. The manual talks about placing them with corps and changing the corps into assault corps. I have tried using them as support units like artillery. Sometimes I can and sometimes I cannot. I do understand how to develop them and build them. I do...

Doctrine question

I have a question about doctrines. In all of my games I have started with "Movement" and then in late 1914 gotten messages on the transition to "Firepower." This is as expected. However, in my current game it is late 1915 and I think I am in the "Combined Doctrine." This has happened to me in other ...

Two new question from playing the Entente

Naval Question

Are they any restrictions to naval movement? Example Japan has joined the Entente - she seems to be able to deploy her fleets just about all over the world. Is this normal? And are there any negative results to using the Japanese fleet in say the Atlantic Ocean?

Thanks

I suspect at least some of what you're seeing is the depth of the game and that this allows significantly different paths to similar outcomes and vice-versa. There are enough variables so that the game often plays out differently every time. Imagine that in one case the people rallied around the Tsa...

Finished campaign and have some questions

Just finished my second campaign as the CP and have some questions In my first game Russia surrendered very early - 1916 I believe - I had hurt her army badly but only conquered Poland, some regions around Odessa, and most of the Baltic up to Riga - very quickly Russia was hurt with mutinies, revolu...
