Blockading Topic Again! Apologies

As I've said in previous posts, I talked my neighber into playing me hotseat and he's picked up things as the CSA rather quickly (to my frustration - having played exclusively against Athena). It's 1864 - I have Richmond, Mobile, Atlanta, NE and everything in between (he still holds all of the coast...

Retreats

Again in the category of I'll never quite get everything about this game no matter how long I play it. I don't have any screen shots to show but my hot seat neighbor opponent, who decided to humor me and play as the CSA (and has been doing pretty good for first time around) is furious and I didn't h...

What Happened to 14th Fleet?

Ok - Feeling stupid. How do I attach saved game files? Sent a Union blockade flotilla and transport to blockade the river adjacent to Wilmington. Next turn these ships are no where to be seen or found. The message window tells me that the 14th Fleet (its name) arrived at the river on turn 13. I clic...

CSA Infrastructure - When is Enough?

This is a follow-on question to a post I submitted several weeks ago regarding the frustration with playing the CSA in the 1863 scenario. So I started the 1862 scenarion but I find similar frustrations, in that I have so little WS that I wind up spending a lot of resources on indrustrialization (typ...

A Naval Question

As has been pointed out on these forums you never stop learning and you never run out of questions. When playing Athena as the Union she didn't seem to pay a lot of attention to the naval game, particularly regarding blockade runners. My human opponent however is paying attention to it and as the CS...

CSA Supply Help

I'm fairly experienced with this game but almost entirely from playing the Union. Decided for the heck of it to play as CSA and started the 1863 full campaign. It's late July and my boys in Virginia and Mississippi are starving! I've checked to make sure I've got depots properly spaced, have control...

Modifying Allowable Division Size

Have followed the read me exactly to modify the 'Events' folder for the 1863 campaign so I could bump the up to 50 and 80 divisions respectively for the South and North. Yet when I start a new 1863 camapign the original allowable division sizes of 30 and 60 are still reflected. Have experienced this...

Save Game Routine

Two things are driving me nuts here. 1, Save game routine. I'll confess in all of the games I play against the AI, I like being able to replay a turn that didn't go my way. I don't know how to do that with this game system. I'm about to end my turn and I click on the save button. I play the turn and...

Can't Dismbark

Playing Union campaign against AI, 1863. The naval force that starts with Grant at I believe the Yazoo Confuent has two naval ponyonn units loaded. When I try to drag and drop them on land with Grant I can't. Probably something real simple but right now I'm stumped. Also, what hot keys are reuired t...

Hot Seat?

Inspite of 1.16cr10 patch, where the read me text says that the CSA Athena is much better now at staying put and playing defensively 'smarter', I've seen no indication of that whatsoever. Using the recommended settings (I believe off the top of my head: Liuetenant or Captain; normal aggressiveness a...

Need to Relook This?

Wad or not, I'm finding it rather frustrating to have to constantly micro-manage and shuttle all of my ships back and forth to harbors as they take, in my my view, way too many hits just for sailing anywhere. After just a few turns my brown water ships are down to nothing. Time of year doesn't seem ...

Wagons and Depots

A really basic question. Have read the supply posts and Wicki but I still don't quite get building depots. I haven't played this game for years but IIRC you needed two wagons to build a depot, at which point the wagons I believe were 'consumed' in building the depot. The patch errata seemd to say 4 ...

Yes, there's only one scenario for SVF, the April campaign. Do youhave others? Reinforcing Admiral Placement?

Sometimes the simple stuff stumps me. How do I do this? There are no naval units in the vertical reinforcement placement box. I try to drag and drop it onto a fleet (without an admiral) on map and nothing happens. I try to drag and drop it onto the map itself and nothing happens. What am I missing?

Netherlands

I haven't seen anything in the manual that references any special rules about the Netherlands. Yet regardless of which side I play, even when the AI doesn't send any diplomats there, and even after numerous turns of diplomatic 'missions', I can't get the Netherlands into the war. The dial will stay ...

Calvinus, Once again I am confounded by the supply rules. Playing the 1916 campaign as the Central Powers. I moved a supplied III Turkish Army into Ezerum (a one region move unopposed and I converted the rail line into it). This city (or town) was connected by rail line to another Turkish town (name...

Ok - tried that - scrolled over the mideast, then the med, then eventually France in the main map - get the red letters telling me that I can't move over land with naval transport selected. You see my frustration - I'll give it another try.

5) I finally tried to drag & drop the HQ to Marseille, Montpellier, Bordeaux and Nantes... it works... the movement is scheduled.

Feeling very dumb - how did you do this? When I try I find I can't darg and drop out of the 'oval' that contains the USA box.

I think you should drag and drop the stack over a land area (France for example). It works in my game. Well I apologize in advance but I'm not getting this. In the save game I attached, to access the USA units you have to go to the geographic 'box' (I guess oval is a better description) that has Af...

Can someone show me how to move USA units to France? Supply Rules Again

Calvinus, When you get a chance - once again I'm baffled. How are all of the German units that I have surrounded on the Western Front still in supply? ...and the weirdness in some respects continues. Austria tried one attack in all of 1916 into Belgrade which was defeated. Yet at the Jan 1917 turn I...

Can someone tell me how to get a Britsh HQ (or small army) from Britain to Egypt. I activate a Brit army in Britain and click on sea transport. I'm the most well read regarding WWI but I've read my fair share. Nationalism was very well entrenched (pun intended) before the outbreak of the war.
