Episode 3: 7th of October 1775

Arsan, the Spanish Colonial Minister, paced angrily throughout the room. "That idiot Gage has cost us a lot of money! All commercial agreements between Spain and the British Empire are in a mess because Boston was lost! Everything produced around and north of Boston is sealed off from our markets un...

Thanks everybody for the tip about the army. I'll try it. Attached you have 2 saves: "the very first turn" which means what it says and "Backup11" (which is the 2nd turn of the campaign). Load "Backup 11". Click 'end turn'. Gage has surrendered 4 out of 4 times in my tests before uploading the save ...

Second turn. Turn 1: I move into the region. (orange setting, not red! not the "full assault" one!) Turn 2: they surrender. Howe wasn't there yet. Just as a note: many events don't show up in the Message Box in all occurrences of playing the campaign - although they should. Ex.: First time I played ...

Voila! ... I have edited the previous post. The attachments weren't working.

How did I do it? Removed Ward. United all armies near Boston (forgot the name of the territory). Sent them to Boston with orange attack setting. Event (no battle).

I've also noticed that in the WIA ledger page, the VPs aren't listed, so I can't see, for example, that Montreal is worth more than Ft. Niagra. This is with the latest patch. Is this WAD? I thought that maybe I was imagining this, so I went to check all of AACW, NCP & WIA. It seems that only the la...

I know what you mean. The game interface tricks you :D : the stack leader is Artemas Ward (2-1-2 :fleb: ) who is almost always inactive. So I separated him from the stack, and now I can move at will with that army. From my previous -and only - experience with this scenario the siege goes fine and th...

Three quick and easy (?) questions about the War of Independence

1. The War of Independence scenario: in January 1776, as the rebs, I received about 20 messages along the lines of: "2nd New Jersey/1st Delaware/2nd Georgia/etc. was disbanded" Did I do something stupid :bonk: or is it a scripted event? 2. Same scenario: what is the level of intervention necessary f...

Very smart idea. I second that. The question is: what trigger should one use?

Edit: Of course the French should be in the war for at least a year. It wouldn't be fun for them to enter and then leave a month later :mdr: . So that condition should be there.

I have no problem with the game mechanic. It's just that the text is a bit unclear/confusing.

In other words, I *know* what I am *trying* to do. What I want to know is the *outcome* of my attempt.

Sorry if I'm not clear, it's not really such a big issue to make a fuss over.

"You try to train elite troops"

.. OK.

So did I succeed in my attempt?
Why not add to the sentence: "and you succeed" or "and you don't succeed".

Even better:
"Elite troops were trained as per your orders" or
"Attempt to train elite troops was unsuccessful"

Just a suggestion.

First of all, welcome to a :coeurs: :coeurs: community and to a :coeurs: :coeurs: game! To the point, you're probably looking at the wrong portion of the screen to figure out what army a general is part of. In the manual, at page 20, a red box in the illustration indicates what you should be looking...

Rafiki makes a great point. If I win 6-7 battles with a one-star general, I may want to see a promotion for the man - maybe he's good enough to handle a corps :sourcil: The fact that only a certain number of generals can be promoted takes some of the fun out. But I guess this is way too much work (I...

The short answer: Being overwhelmed depends on the AI difficulty level and level of aggression. As the CSA, something will not work right at any given time: you will not have available soldiers (=conscription points). Or you will have enough soldiers, but not money. Or you will have enough money, bu...

Problem solved: ridiculous long time to get from one region to the next

The screenshot is attached: moving Beauregard from Loudon, VA to Frederick, MD will take (hold your breath now) 175 days. I guess this were funny ... if Beauregard's corps weren't stuck! :8o: As in, it takes more than 100 days for it to get to *any* other region. And it's a condition that has lasted...

Reiver is absolutely right. If only 10% of what he is proposing could be done, it would be great. My favorite is "unlocking" all generals in that, given enough experience, any of them could be promoted. ... that hopefully won't be too hard to implement: 1. Inform the player via log when general is promoted automatically via script.
