Is there any reason not to emancipate?

Through emancipation (playing as the Union) I should get 150 VP, 5 NM, and I should lower chance of foreign intervention. Why should I decide not to emancipate?

It's in the works, but hasn't been done yet (i.e. not in any patch made pucblic yet). I.e. keep churning out those division HQ units if you want to form divisions. I'm a little bit worried about it. Will such a "revolutionary" new game design be compatible with previous save games? What ...

A single unit is enough :) Blockade numbers are for brown-water blockade of production/income (or suchlike); not sure what the blockade number means for rivers, but for blocking supply and land unit movement, a single unit is sufficient. Interesting. So can anybody explain what the blockade number ...

you need to have them at least to 50%, to prevent some exploits. The manual try to give the essential, and not all anti exploits and tiny rules, this would drown you otherwise :) Isn't it in any case an exploit to use (partially) depleted or cheaper units to build forts? Do the forts strength depen...

If you are not satisfied with the supply distribution, you have a manual tool in your hand: supply wagons. They will only give back their supply to units, so you can stockpile manually with them. That's a point I'm not sure I get. Since BoA, I thought supply wagons distribute their supply to units ...

18 elements in a division?

I've just begun a campaign as the Union, but I cannot merge more than 7-8 elements (when I select more units, the merge button seems not to be selectable any more). Am I missing something or in the early stages of the war division containers are less capable?

O.K. thanks. Let me insist on the idea to make brigades detachable from divisions through drag and drop. One of the nicest features of ageod's design is the easy management of the units; splitting and reforming divisions is sometimes quite annoying.

Are smaller scenarios winnable?

I played (almost) every small scenarios on both sides, and neither achieved a victory nor lost: always stalemates. Sometimes I played very poorly (especially as the CSA) and was constantly defeated in the single battles, but nevertheless the scenario ended with a stalemate. Playing the Gettysburg sc...

Corps and division management

Just begun to play the game (only small scenarios), I read the manual and played the tutorials, and have a few (probably stupid) questions. 1) The manual says you can detach a brigade from a division. As far as I see, the only way to reorganize divisions is to disband and reform them; i.e. you can't...

As for the passive posture and being in a structure, I think its more a loophole than anything else. I too agree that in this case no penalties should be given... But lets not be hasty, I will wait for PhilThib and the betas to check if nothing bad would stem from the fix. Is it the same in 1.08? T...

It's probably a "victory" but you had no combat units left and the enemy had 1. The battle is still won, but your supply units evapourate. Check the battle report, if your losses equal your starting combat units, then you're supplies/cannon will be lost. I suspect something like that happened to me...

Yeah, I'm a little uneasy with the way that Entrenchments are done. If you are in a Fort, why bulid Entrenchments that are less effective than the Fort defenses. If you want to construct Entrenchments and not get bottled up in the Fort, you should have to leave the Fort defenses and construct Entre...

What a region gives to units is not relevant here. So if I have two adjacent regions, each with a supply value of...

I wouldn't mind having automatic or "carry-over" postures for Ambush and Entrench. Probably I'm completely stupid, but I can't get how it works :p leure:.
Whenever I save, I always see a predefined filename and I don't understand how I can change it. I've read that the "save as" command has been implemented since older patches (playing actually 1.05). Could please someone help?
