In any case, you'll see pretty fast if you need it or not :)

I got it from GamersGate and I'm pretty sure you don't need the foundation patch.

Corps de Chasseurs

I've been reading some Civil War books recently, and a common topic is McClellan's lack of a Corps de Chasseurs . I understand this is a mobile force to follow through with breakthroughs, like Murat's cavalry or the Guard Cavalry. But in AACW terms, what would this consist of? Would it just be a cav...

I don't think I've ever used the hold at all costs. But I've been known to launch all-out assaults if I absolutely need a breakthrough.

Sounds like a great idea! It would add political layers to the game, while not adding a whole lot of complexity.

Perhaps it would be used in Vainglory of Nations, as well? :siffle: :niark:

....yeah dump the engineer, but on further reflection I quess he did use it somewhat in overseaing earthwork construction... Well, he was an engineer his entire career and then oversaw the building of the massive Richmond defenses. I would say engineer is a fine trait for him. If you had to drop a ...

The bars on the left of a units picture show this. Bronze is aveage, Silver is above average, Gold is great. In a division's picture, it seems to be that whatever the majority of the composite elements are determines the overall appearance of those bars. Oh... Forget the previous comment, then! :si...

In regards to veteran brigades, perhaps their could be a symbol to show that they are considered "veteran" at a glance.

Armies

How many armies do you build? As the CSA I typically have 3, one in VA, one in TN/KY, and one in the Trans-Mississippi.

With the US I usually have 5 or 6, with the first three in the same places as I have with the CSA, with another on the Eastern Seaboard and 1 or 2 on the Gulf Coast.

You receive some replacements free, but you have to pay for most of it. You'll spend most of your early money buying these, as well as getting reinforcements.

Wow, thanks guys! I didn't really like just putting a smattering of cavalry in each division. It seemed if I had these expensive units, I should put them together and maximize their abilities. But that's just me. :tournepas Also, is there anyway to group artillery batteries to form battalions? Old P...

Cavalry Divisions

I've been toying with creating a Cavalry division in the East, now that Stuart has arrived. What would be the best composition for this?

This should add a lot of historical accuracy to the game. I've often wondered why East Tennessee is perfectly loyal to the CSA, vice versa with Southern Illinois.

Both were very close Confederate victories. At Perryville Bragg retreated because he had no supply lines. At Stones River he chickened out after inflicting heavy casualties on Rosecrans.
