A couple of things: The ACW has a series of events. It sounds like some/all of the events didnt fire or didnt fire properly. Second--see note by McN about leaders. Known bug, it is being fixed. Third--replacements. You have to build replacement elements (units) on the F2 screen. The numbers at the t...

Ok, I only play the US (consider it a character flaw :D ). Here are some hints-- 1) build more gold mines in sacramento, and a railroad when you can. Gold gives you state funds and your captialists will make money off of it too 2) Build a Mechanical Goods factory on Turn 1. 3) Build, in this general...

I'd add that Harbors above Level 2 and Naval Bases also allow for ships to gain replacements (allowing for new ships to be added to understrength counters)

normally, this happens when one of the game turn files did not write properly (my guess is you have Vista or Win7). If so, go to your PON directory, to the VGN folder, then to the Saves folder. Go to the Backup1 folder copy everything and paste it into the Saves folder, overwriting the 3-4 files tha...

Like I said on the P'dox forums--be careful in saying "It's 1852 and I've got the economy down pat! Game over!" PON is not Victoria, Civ, etc. The economy will massively change as soon as coal-burning navies, expanded rails and larger factories show up. The OP makes the baseline assumption that what...

Yep, it happens via events if you have them in colony status. So, if you want to make Kansas national soil, get it to Colony status then wait until the event fires in 1862-1864 timeframe.

Once structures pop up, then you can find them, IIRC. The regions are basically western sector of New Mexico, central Arizona, the necky part of Utah, and parts of Montana.

Sorry, the name of the region is ok. but it belongs to the state of missouri and not to kansas. :) Yeah, I've been bugging Philippe about that. (in full disclosure, I'm from that region). N. Missouri should be part of Missouri, and southern Arkansas should be part of Arkansas (and not Oklahoma). :)

true carnhorn, and they kept fighting the Indians until 1890 :) The units you raise for the IW are pretty useless in large-scale fights (the Exp Brigades). If you raise larger units, and PON allows you to do so, you are also shifting $$ and resources from internal improvements, etc. Again, it is abo...

good job Balck. Yes, he is right--the control, etc. means little to nothing until the turn plays out. What control reflects is whether the crisis has spun out of control (toward war) or not. The best way to handle a crisis is think about what you want--do you want to win at all costs or just end it ...

first, forget everything you know from playing other games (Victoria, Civilization, et al). PON doesn't reward aggressive annexation and conquest. It just doesn't. The game won't come to the peace table two days after you occupy the last province. To get Luxemborg, you are going to have to occupy it...

IMHO, the best way is build a rail from St Louis to Ft Leavenworth, and a depot and pre-ind fort at Leavenworth. Put all the troops you have in western outposts in the outposts. It reduces attrition. Keep the big inf regts in St Louis, or when the fort/depot is running, in Leavenworth. Look at build...

I’ve been using my default starting units to crush the Indians (cavalry unit and Texas and St. Louis infantry units), and then I build the expeditionary troop units (1 inf and 1 cav battalion) to use as occupiers for regions I want to gain control of. They are cheap military units and don’t suffer ...

Win7 right? Happens to me to. Quick fix--go to your PON\Saves directory. Inside are a bunch of folders and some files in the root directory. Backup1 means it is one turn before the last turn (e.g., Backup15 is 15 turns ago). Go into Backup1, copy everything there. THen paste it over the files in the...

Is there an event/option for the "colonies" to become full members of the United States later in the game? You got that Little Mack :) What you need to do is get all the provinces to 100% CP. I've always assumed Out-of-Supply meant 0% on hand supply. The units I've mentioned all kept their on hand supply levels at 100% and never decreased it, so technically they aren't considered Out-of-Supply I guess. Don't declare war! You won't really get anything out of it (historically, the USA never declared war officially against any tribe...). Best option--occupy all the area with troops.
