No problem, Lodilefty. Take your time, as I've put BOA2 on hold for awhile. Me too! But its the experience bug I don't like, since it seems to have been present in one form or another since the inception of the game. If it were only possible to put a region list in the Condition section of ...

OK, here is another great example of FULL event texts gone astray. ;)

Gates arrives in the North to "thwart Burgoyne's advance". But in true to himself fashion, Burgoyne never arrives, but send the Halfwit Fraser insetad.

I think AGEOD Management involved itself, since the event under discussion resulted in a significant redunction in the utility of the site. Mike's posts contributed greatly to the understanding of both new and verteran players. As stated previously, the situation between Mike and AGEOD is precisely...

Of course you can use generic events to launch FULL events. Full events allow you to add a popup graphic of the New World Gazette and add a sound effect. Over time, I cleaned up some of the language (kinda) in the Full event texts. But only, because they were initially written by people who spoke Fr...

You can also use generic events for leaders as well. So, instead of saying "More reinforcements have arrived in the South", you can say "General Clinton has arrived in the South" (presumably with reinforcements). :) It really is just a matter of taste in a large way, but by using generic events, you...

I have only been back a few weeks posting once again in the forums after about a 2 year absense. I am not surprised at yet another childish Forum DRAMA here at Ageod. And of course, the Ageod Uppers have to involve themselves to insure that NO DRAMA shall be wasted here. And of course, a non...

One thing I did not make really clear, is this thread, is the real effects revised weather has on a BoA game. On of the chief complaints with BoA, was that AI units (sometimes always on the go), would traverse wilderness aeras during the winter, to their own demise. Apart from the season (WINTER), t...

Just another thought about the region list actions in the WIA/BOA events. It is probably a good thing that the units are deployed (at least somewhere), even if there are enemies in their intended destinations. Otherwise, the event would have fired, and might not be a repeating event, and therefore w...

Thank you! We've identified the issue: The Region Selection list and associated "NotEnemy" commands are located in Actions rather than in Conditions. Thus, if all regions in the list are "Enemy", the engine goes ahead and places the units at one of the locations anyway! Solution: edit every arrival...

The Orange Coats Are Coming

One thing has become very clear about this little project. :neener: I am NOT the right person for the job. :mdr: After reviewing the last set of these new British (see above post), I noticed the lace on the hats had been gomered. It was too thick. Also, I wanted to darken the hats a little b...

Well, I changed the 1776 British guys one more time. I just didn't like the hat. I did not look "British" to me. And the figure looked too big. You have to be careful because I think Robin did all the original British guys and they are more diminuative. Soo, there werent' to many hats to cho...

I will add a few more pics. I will probably play a scenario, and then start doing the Confedrate Faction. And also, I am slowy updating the city file, changing a few names, making some of the cities larger, etc. Obviously this is not meant to replace ACW, but I think I will add a few simple scenario...

I am ready to get a copy (license) for AACW.

But, I am hoping you can still get a Digital Download or a Boxed Edition that comes with version 1.05 or below. (i.e. before the gang bang occurred)

I am willing to try the after market (Ebay) but thought I would ask here first.

I can answer that. 1.12a is better. 1.13d was not one of Pocus' finer moments. But with BoA it would also be best to find Jaeger's Region mod and Lodilefty's Port mod. If you want to mod BoA beyond the Region and Port mods, then I suggest removing the track system, and that will improve game play al...

Hi, I found this out years ago with BoA weather myself, and basically applied your concepts. I also found (from looking at satellite images), that I did not need additional weather patterns past the ones the game (BoA) gives you, except for the Great Lakes region that I added. Also, I found another ...

I got interested in this thread, kinda drifting through the crazy, and it made me think of this ... Here is the text of an old post from the Matrix site , that I posted sometime in 2005. It was meant for WITP, but it will work with most any MULTIPLAYER strategy game. --------------------------------...

Ya, and using those big flags, how is someone going to set up a scenario with three factions.

Wont that mess with the selection thing.

I prefer the normal itty bitty flags.

Back in BOA1 days, I spent most of the weekends in June of one year (several years ago), completely rewriting the 1776 Event script, for this very reason.

That being said, it is a data intensive game, and I can always find "little" problems with my own scripts and data.

But I still love BOA1 a great deal. And I always can find time to play this game now days. One of the biggest detractions from the BOA1 map, was the fact that blocked regions like rivers and sea zones, would not display properly. This was really a splitter issue, and once I fixed them (years ago) us...

I have both games, and I mod both. And the soldier graphics work in both games as well. Also, something I noticed from original BOA. Phil provided the British with 3 turnback colors. So these equate as follows to the new turnback colors I now have for the AWI guys. 1756 Buff (for Buff faced regiment...
