minor v1.10b bug

1 - I am sending militia and cavalry units set to passive, retreat with enter city deep into csa territory trying to capture ungarrisoned cities. Generally pick up Carthage, Livingstone, Huntsville TN etc with no trouble. These units change to assault posture in enemy territory but I don't think tha...

v1.09e ai hq problems severe?

I'm using v1.09d at the moment and downloaded 1.09e before reading of the problems athena is having managing hq's. Is it worth applying this patch or should I wait? Looking forward to some ai enhancements. I've noticed(like most others) athena invades KY, builds no depots, leaves key depots undefend...

April 61 campaign playing union The good: I attacked NO in Dec 61 with supply and 2 very strong divisions. Van Dorn with a large csa force was waiting and that was that. Lost 3 NM and the bulk of those troops. Took Knoxville depot with a skirmisher raid. Counter-attacked promptly next turn. The Bad:...

I will buy NCP sometime over the next few months. Just too busy playing AACW and doing the family thing to cover another game now. The extra time enables the initial release bugs and key enhancements to be sorted out too. Later purchases depend upon subject matter alone as the game quality of AGEOD ...

v1.07h bug

2 units teleported from Columbus KY to Clarksville TN when turn executed. April 61 Union campaign. Split off 2 units from Sumner's division, inf and horse arty, to garrison Columbus, having just taken that city. Moved Sumner back to Cairo and had another division shift forward past Columbus to take ...

That was quick Pocus. How do you find time to read all these forum items, fix/ improve AACW and work on the new Napoleon game at the same time? You ever find time to leave the office?

Thanks.

division creation cost tracking

Division creation cost tracking is an issue for me as the dollar, manpower and WS costs are not automatically deducted as divisions are created (be nice if this were done like replacements and reinforcements). As it is, I must manually note the number of divisions I am creating so I don't overspend ...

AI improvements

The AI has consistently improved since I played my first campaign - my observations are hopefully more constructive than desparaging. AI channelling funds into ironclads, not launching amphibious assaults on NO or Mobile, not aggressively defending or assaulting along the Richmond-Washington corrido...

AI 1.06d suggestions and observations

1 - inflation is not impacting division creation costs which remain $10,1,5WS despite high levels of inflation 2 - AI raiders are leaving indian villages intact rather than destroying them (eg in KS if AI is CSA) so they are promptly recaptured; AI would clearly benefit if they did this(same with de...

AI suggestion and comment v1.06

Suggestion: Raiders should have destruction of depots set as a high priority. CSA has been capturing depots that it then leaves intact while moving on to capture other cities. Raiding AI units don't seem able to destroy depots though they are happy enough wrecking rail. Not sure if this is an oversi...

worth buying

Get it. I play a lot of wargames, WITP included, and this one is special. Just finished my first campaign (April 61) as Union and though I went all out printing money etc to produce the biggest armies asap to nail the CSA before it could get on a roll, it still took until Jan 63 to win. I didn't sto...

important v1.06 bug (not v1.06a)

Just found another 2 cases of disappearing units after installing v1.06. Also detached 1 militia from a division to hold Fulton while said division headed sout...

No sign of this happening with any other units. Duplicated this problem 3 times from a save game which I lost amidst all my tes...

1.
