Re: Left-click mouse to drag map???!!!!! WTH?

What is your frame rate? Are you playing in a laptop? Could it be that the game is using the Intel graphic card instead of the second more powerful? PC, GTX 1060, default frame rates. Not too sure this is a graphics card issue, but could possibly imagine that somehow faster hardware could result in...

Re: Left-click mouse to drag map???!!!!! WTH?

This part of the code is the same across all the games, same engine. To be honest it has been a while since I last played AJE or CWII (not installed via Steam) but have no recollection of the same mouse pan control issue I have with TEAW. I have reinstalled AJE (this time using Steam) just to see a...

Re: Left-click mouse to drag map???!!!!! WTH?

Why oh why must/is this a problem in this game???? This is 101 of basic UI design failing at all levels. :cuit: How the heck did such a a TERRIBLE implementation of such a common, fundamental and common UI feature seen in so many other games end up being so wrong and poorly implemented in this game?...

....but for 99+% of the time it goes where it's told provided I speak gently to it. OK, so you are definitely confirming that for you, when you left-click on the map and move the mouse, the mouse pointer "locks" on to the spot on the map you left-clicked, rather than slip/skid all over th...

Left-click mouse to drag map???!!!!! WTH?

Late to the party here as I just got this game (own several other AGEOD titles however so I kind of knwo what to expect/not to expect)..... ...but there is a MAJOR UI issue I get when using the left button on mouse to drag the map around (a very common and standard method in a game like this). Rathe...

Because I was running the game vie the Steam menu, I had no option to Run As Administrator. I found the exe in the Steam directory and ran it directly as administrator and all is now ok.

Hi In the log, it seems you are trying to pick up a Caesar vS Pompeius saved game, and then somehow the access to the saved files is denied. Hi thanks for looking at this. I don't understand why that would even be a problem because I am just trying to start a new game/browse/select a new scenario a...

At least to answer partial amount of your questions Bullman. Two forces negate their defensive capability(including entrenchment) when set to any aggressive posture whatsoever. AFAIK both stacks should be considered mutually engaged and neither a defender. In the battle report screen, "the attacker...

The one thing which I think is still not working is that when a stack moves into a region, fights a battle, loses, but remains in the region, that faction isn't gaining 5% MC, which will cause it to go to OP again if not put into PP. That should not be the case. The one thing still not working??? T...

OK, then it sounds like we have the best of both worlds then. Stacks can in theory get "trapped" but won't be compelled to attack every turn. Sounds like the perfect situation. Possible but not easy if you understand the game mechanics. I am learning myself how to avoid these situations. "Push a spe...

Apparently Pocus has posted that a change is coming where you just get 5% MC, no matter what. So that is that. We'll see how this works out. http://www.ageod-forum.com/showthread.php?39391-Military-control-bug&p=345833#post345833 The quick fix is posted. http://www.ageod-forum.com/showthread.php?39...

Combat Power shown in F7 Objectives screen?

Hello, I have noticed that with the latest patches, the display of Combat Power in the F7 Objectives screen is now shown as two numbers separated by a backslash (*/*) as opposed to a single number as it used to be and some are in green text. What do the two numbers tell us and...

I have yet to understand how the game resolves the following situation (among many other things yet this one is kind of simple) - two opposing stacks in the same region - both stacks are set to an "attacking" posture. - when the turn is processed, the two stacks engage in battle - does the game assi...

The defender can have an attacking posture. If I remember the manual correctly, that means they initiate the battle, are the defenders, and do not get the benefit of any entrenchments. This is a fairly common stance for garrisons that intend to intercept small units. ?? Confused by what you are say...

I'm pretty sure that's false Again, playing a game where inactive leaders can move, but face a penalty while attacking, attacking with blue defensive posture is common. ?? I don't think any of this is mentioned in the manual. Under Posture Defensive it clearly states "your Stack won’t engage ...

There was only one artist for everything in CW2 when it comes to interface and the map. And then another for units and ...

I tend to agree with the OP. BoR had an amazing map. I am unsure why but that map transports me to the time of Rome. The worst part of ACW2 for me...and it is minor but hard to deal with...is the font in the messages, or more precisely the background color. The black font on the grey background is ...

Any battle between two identical stacks with vanilla leaders will just about always favor the defender as just about every unit has better defensive fire than offensive fire. Since this is true, your first example should favor the defender as he'll be using superior defensive fire against the offen...

The more I think about it, the more I realise how poorly I understood the significance of how P1/P2 posture and ROE combinations interact with each other. I guess any feints I do in CW2 will have to be at the theater level and not a tactical one. Oh well, flanking manouvers and/or straight head on attacks will have to do. I am kind of surprised by this. I thought I may have even read that attacking as described by the OP is a way you can attempt to c...

Region borders (example of how CW2 graphics lost the plot)

Hello Anyone know if there is a way to better see/highlight the region borders when looking at the map? A hotkey perhaps? This game is like playing chess without seeing the chessboard :/ If I were playing any other AGEOD game, I would not be asking this question, which leads me to say the following....
