Yeah. Chess engines are at 3000+ ELO now. Carlson is 2860 or so. You are not regularly beating Fritz 14 unless your in sparring mode and its handicapped in some way. The above poster says I seriously doubt. I'd go further and say impossible.

It says I need an investment rights treaty on p 44 of the manual. Not sure why it's not an option though.

I believe you need at least a commercial agreement with holstein. Possibly passage agreements?

Investment rights

A factory I own has shut down because I apparently do not have investment rights with Holstein (I'm Prussia). Looks like I get that via treaty, but it's not an option as far as I can tell. It's my first campaign so I'm only a couple turns in.

Any help appreciated.

Well, it seems no one is taking responsibility for the Mac version. I checked the credits and it's 1.01. The credits only mention Paradox and Ageod. A lot of their titles are done by virtual gaming and they are mum. Phil - lets patch the Mac version! If you didn't do the port directly, can you at le...

There are a lot of titles that are ported by 3rd parties, and yes they can suck. Valve and Blizzard are two exceptions. The game doesn't have the same load screen I've become accustomed to with AGEOD titles, so I didn't initially see the version number. On checking out the application (Get Info) it ...

Well, PoN was on sale on Steam so I decided to get it as well. Two purchases of Pride of nations for $10. Not to shabby. And it gave me an opportunity to confirm my suspicions. The Windows version of the game runs significantly faster, in a virtual machine, than the so-called native version does on ...

PON Performance in a VM

Hello all - I've been interested in purchasing PoN for a bit, and decided to jump on a sale gamers gate had. I've been using macs for a while now so I bought the Mac port. The performance is horrible. Really shocking how slow scrolling is. So, out of curiosity, I installed my copy of AACW in my inst...

I'm wondering if Real are done. If they're splashing that kind of cash around, and make some key trades to create a solid back four, they will have an unstoppable force. Are they trying to stretch another year out of van nistelrooy? That guy is a great player, but he's also a fossil. Van Persie hasn...

I'm from Abington, PA, which is just south of Doylestown (on that little road between Philadelphia and Doylestown). I'm assuming that road is supposed to be Rte 611.

And my current home is probably next to the cactus in the upper-left portion of the Southwest box.

I am a die-hard American football fan, having worn Eagles green my whole life. I used to make fun of soccer even though I played it as a kid. IIRC, the developers who work with Matrix are allowed to set their own prices. I guess they think it's the War in the Pacific of Civil War games.

AI is definitly better, protecting Capital, concentrating forces. It doesn't raid endlessly with cavalry against fortress. In the game the union rate of replacement is 1/2 that of the confederacy. Personally, I think it's too low and should be 1/3 or possibly 1/4, forcing the Union to have more green units by having more new units. I can see room for other penalties, such as having a victory point cost for the North. No...
