The transport capacity is not a button, it's an icon. You have to use instead one of the three move mode buttons in the bottom panel, that one of sea transport mode. Found it: the unit made a line from a port in the south of England to a province in NW France, but we'll soon see if the stack actual...

Be sure you are trying to sea transport a stack composed by a number of corps not exceeding the sea transport capacity of USA. So no corps per time. I'm playing one of the scenarios -- 1917 or 18 -- as the Entente, but for months on end, the transport capacity button -- when clicked after I choose ...

... Calvinus makes sea movement sound easy but my experiance has been that moving the AEF to Europe is a frustrating trial that typically takes several stages over two or three turns (up to six months!) to get a single contingent of Doughboys to France. Do you have to move them one corps at a time?...

At the top of the screen?

Does the transport number on that tab represent corps?

Sea Transport

After several weeks, I have yet to successfully transport troops by sea; as there is no step-by-step explanation in section 14 of the pdf manual, what exactly is the procedure?

If I can't get Americans and Brits into France, there will be no Vive la France!

Exit Issues

After I patched to 1.07c, I saved my first game, and then tried to exit the program, only to have it crash and freeze. Even Ctrl-Alt-Del didn't work, and I had to shut my computer down manually. That's not good. This happened several times, so I changed compatibility to Win 2000 -- I have XP -- but ...

... If 1 minute is not enough for you, you can increase it. Open the GI.ini file that is located inside the game folder, using a common text editor, and locate the following parameter: PopupChoiceTime=60000 This parameter is expressed in milli-seconds, so 60000 means 60 seconds = 1 minute. Adjust i...

Mono-whatism?

Ok, I'm new to this game, although I'm a veteran EU player. I'm playing the Jihad scenario as the Red Team, putting all my nations -- except the HR Empire -- under AI control; my intent is to counter the Islamic jihad against the SE portion of my Empire. But when the scenario begins, I'm immediately...

National Objectives?

There is a scroll to the lower right of the screen at the beginning of a new campaign that lays out an historical outline for that period, so perhaps that's what the manual is referring to by "national objectives." I may be spoiled by EU2, which gave the player well-defined, optional missions in a s...

The manual states that in "free campaigns" you begin w/only one nation, but bid for more.

But since I haven't tried that yet ...

National Objectives

I'm new to this game and am just getting the feel of the interface; the manual states that "each nation indicates its objectives to help guide the player when it first appears in the game."

But where exactly do these objectives appear?

I'm new to this game as well, and the GI manual leaves something to be desired, but try this strategem: put all your chosen (same color) nations under the AI's control by going to the Palace (left of screen) and hitting the 4 toggle switches for each nation. Then watch what happens. At least it's en...

Patching-up

If you're already at 1.07, do you really have to do a fresh install for 1.07c, i.e., uninstall GI, reinstall GI, and then patch-up to 1.07c?

The GI version I purchased is 1.06.

If you can give proof of your purchase, send Philippe a PM and he will reply to you with the key for activating the 1.07c patch. OK, I sent Phillip a PM, but I don't think I need 1.07c or even b, just 1.07 as my game was bought through Strategy First, not through AGEOD. As I have dial-up, a physica...

Is that all DivX does? It also wanted to add a "google" toolbar.

Strategy First game

I just bought the Strategy First version of Great Invasions -- I assume I should only patch-up to 1.07 as the patches after that are only for the AGEOD version?
