So, I guess it will be sold in there too...

You "guess" does not help.

It is a serious question, I would appreciate a serious answer from anyone at AGEOD that would know for certain how the game will be made available.

Thanks

This was one question I thought of after the Paradox deal was announced:

Will there still be Direct Downloads through AGEOD?
(they were a simple and easy way to purchase AGEOD games)

Or do we have to go exclusively to GamersGate? (have never do that yet)

Well, I hope its a good move, but it sure wasn't that great for Mad Minute Games and " Take Command Second Manassas ". You might be thinking of MMG's first game "Take Command: Civil War Bull Run". It was published by Activision Value, they gave it minimal publicity and retail distribution. IMO Para...

Something I heard a Park Ranger at Gettysburg say years ago about Shaara's book...
Before Killer Angels came out in the early 1970's, the "heroes" of the battle on the 2nd day was considered a Minnesota regiment (1st?) that fought in the center and held off numerous attacks.

Any info this?

That's tag, he* likes to shake things up a bit, see what falls out of the tree.
No harm if you know how to handle it, a sarcastic comment sent the other way usually soothes the beast. :bonk:
Most regulars here know that by now

I doubt Ageod "made up some names".
They probably got the name from a period map of a location nearby.

He left because he was the King, the fate of his country rested on his shoulders. Can not even be compared to generals like Duan, etc.. who could easliy be replaced. If Frederick was killed or captured then Prussia is lost and divided up between France/Austria/Russia. Not cowardice or a "quitter" bu...

I think if you guys really want something changed, you are going to have to do all the leg work and research on it.

I pretty sure Gray has AACW work scheduled out for the next few months.

Would that help?

I am waiting the book anytime this week. I a afraid the comments on Szabo bias could lead to me to read the book with a certain bias as well, but I will try to keep my distance. Fortunately it is not subject in which I have any personal bias... Sorry if other reviews or opinions might affect your r...

Why not, and I would say that as a French Company, Ageod can't forget to add a campaign involving French armies in Indochina. I'm missing something or read your first post wrong. You asked what time period the game should portray. One first question could be also : From which date do you want the g...

One first question could be also : From which date do you want the game to begin ? From Japanese Invasion of French Indochina (1940-1945) or From the First Indochina War (1946-1954) with later US assistance or From US growing intervention after 1964...to the end we know. So there are 3 possible cam...

I like the idea.
As far as I know the AGEOD engine should be good for an insurgency type conflict.

Also, I'm an OIF vet, don't have any problems playing current conflict games like CMSF, etc..
I used to at first, but not anymore.

Quick review of the Szabo book, after reading about 120 pages tonight: WTF? This guy has issues. His hatred for Frederick II is not normal nor healthy. And it certainly is not an "un-biased" look at the SYW. The good points are that it is a very good overall view of the war, taking into account all ...

Be aware though that Osprey books' quality vary greatly from one another , and while those dealing with units and battles are usualy good enough, the ones on general history may not be up to standards. For what I remember, the one on the French and Indian War is not so good (use of outdated concept...

Arsan, what you seek is the holy grail, there really isn't a general history of the SYW in Europe out there. I've been searching a year for just what you mention, a modern, in print, fairly inexpensive book, haven't found it. Your best options for now seem to be Osprey, and online resources. 2 Books...

Correct me if I'm wrong but were SYW Armies simply: Army-Wing/Line-Battalion?

Battalions were organized into Regiments for administration and recruiting but they could easily be seperated for different tasks.

There was nothing like a Napoleonic or ACW Division or Brigade, correct?
