In the game I'm in with Jim the pesky Rebs have no trouble keeping my invaders near the coast. I'm scared to move inland. :p leure:

I agree the inland supply rules are too liberal.

Pretty much agree with everything you said here. The armies in AACW fight on when the historical counterparts would have gone over to the defensive. Only 'Old Wooden Head' Hood would keep attacking and detroy his army. Isn't anyone concerned by the fact that all of Grant's combat elements (except a ...

[quote="von Beanie"]I believe that something needs to be done to rebalance the PBEM game. It is way too early to make too much play balance, as I've only played about 70 email turns. It also may be a case that I just plain suck as a Yankee, but I think the game still needs some tweaking. C...

For those clamoring for more specific control: I'd even go as far as to say that the industrialization that we can do as the CSA pushes the bounds of acceptability in that we have far too free a hand to do this. Or don't you think Davis and Co. would have done that? There are, of course, several fa...

1. Is it possible to create monster armies that everything bounce off of, or no? 2. Are battle casualties usually in the 1/3 or less category? #2 is important. The ONLY forces that were wiped out IRL were either in Fortresses (Vicksburg, Donelson, etc), or Garrisons that were cut off and in a hopele...

HAHAHA. This is a hilarious issue. I remember during my first marriage when I was playing Steel Panthers, my wife snuck up behind me and started quoting the combat readout at the bottom of the screen as units fired and took casualties, all done in a silly voice. I laughed, but still felt like an id...

I use individual ships (frigates & Brigs) for blockading ports, blockade squadrons for escorting transports and blockade boxes, and ironclads for bombardments or blockading ports I suspect there is an Reb ironclad in.

The victory conditions are a little screwed up IMHO. For example if both the South and the North do absolutely nothing for the entire game, it ends with a Stalemate.
