Calvinus, any chance you can put this naval fix out in a mini-patch? I have been away from the game for awhile, then started back in with 1.06d, but this naval bug is really a game breaker if you are playing the Entente. I really hope I dont have to put the game back on the shelf until the next patc...

Calvinus, will these changes on the corps rules be compatible with saved games under a previous version of the patch? Will the RR changes be compatible or will they be a problem since they change the map?

I heartily endorse this idea.

Also, it would be hand to have a printed schedule of fixed reinforcements for all sides as well, so you know what you have coming before you build more.

Well, after getting rid of the one old corrupted save on my computer, things seem to be working fine now, no matter when I save or what army has been activated. I am guessing that something in that old corrupted save I couldnt delete because it was allegedly being used by the program might have been...

The music is great. I copied all my game music into ITunes, then added a number of other military marches, then play iTunes in the background and shut off the in game music. Works good for me.

also, my settings on the game settings menu are as follows:

I have checked the options 1) play intro video 2) load all sounds at start 3) enable sound effects 4) play sounds in streaming mode 5) load all map at start.

All other options are unchecked. Could this configuration be an issue?

Calvinus, I really appreciate your efforts to track this problem down. I did check my exe file and I am properly using 1.05h. The only other thing I can think of is this. After I installed 1.05h, I went to my save game directory and selected all my old save files for deletion, as I wanted to start a...

I think I have found what the save game problem is

Started a new game as CP under 1.05h. Playing turn based army by army. In August 1914, I activated German I Army, moved it, then went to save the turn. The game crashed on save. Restarted game, went to load last save, the save must have been corrupted, as it would not load and locked WWI. This is si...

OK Calvinus, thanks for the information. This makes more sense now. While I would rather have you working on perfecting the game, I am wondering if someone might be able to add a section to the appendices regarding all the different events -- when they can be played, who is eligible, which ones are ...

The allies are really doing it to themselves in this game, now as I click to end the events phase and enter diplomacy phase, I see that France has played the event 'Strikes' on its ally Russia, and the Russians are now dealing with a strike, even though their NW was 35. Other events seemed to make s...

Strange doings in September 1914

Playing 2 player campaign as CP in September 1914 politics/event phase. First, I get a message that France has played on its alliance partner GB an event that causes a revolt in the African colonies, and that GB must garrison the colony or further troubles will happen. They also lose some NW. Then, ...

Based on what Frank is saying here, I am really wondering if the ctd might have something to do with successfully coordinating armies, as he and I both had successfully coordinated German I, II, and III armies prior to our CTD.

My antivirus stuff is pretty standard, just McAfee, nothing else. I have really never had the CTD problems with WWI before, like others have had. That is why this really took me by surprise. If for some reason the save game I was writing over had been corrupted or had a corrupted file, would that be...

Interesting. I reloaded the game, didnt save after executing my first moves with the German I, II, and III Armies, then activated a Turkish Army, moved it and attempted to save the game. This time the game saved correctly without CTD. I wonder if the CTD bug has some relationship to armies being suc...

Reproducible CTD under 1.05g

Calvinus, I fired up a new game under 1.05 g last night, playing turn by turn and army by army activation. Got a reproducible CTD in the Early Aug 14 turn. After making my first moves and combat resolution with the German I, II and III armies, coordinated together, I go to save the game after gettin...

River effects on Combat

Havent been able to find the answer to this yet.

Do rivers have any effect on combat, in terms of giving the defender a bonus or the attacker a penalty when attacking across a river?

OK, thanks Marquee. Sounds like Calvinus will be fixing two separate problems here -- your lockup, and some type of issue with French language dialogs. Yes indeed, the map orientation has not been of concern at all to me. It is fine the way it is. My only issue with the map is when battle screens pop up and I am not exactly sure where the specific province is located in relation to the rest of the front, particularly with the more obscure (to me) p...
