Re: Field of Glory: Empires out on July 11th

Well it's two days to go and still no price. I think this is not the way to do things, not everyone has spare money lying around and might need to budget a bit to be able to buy it on release, you can never assume things about people's situation.

Re: a request for accessibility

I just wanted to drop a note saying how impressed I am by Tamas' response here. I am an advocate of accessibility in general and Tamas' response here to vaalen's request is very refreshing to read. Keep up the great work!

Shame it came to an end so soon, but of course I understand, thank for the reports you took the trouble to put together!

Looking forward for more.

Re: The collaspe of AARs

Hello! I am late to discovering AGEOD's games and therefore am generally reading AARs long after they have been finished so was unable to comment on them at the time they were being written. I have found them very useful when I am starting out on a game (so far only RoP and TYW, but WoS is on my lis...

Just wanted to thank you for this AAR too. I bought this game a while back but am only just getting around to playing it. I enjoyed reading your reports, they were very well written.

Re: New to AGEOD games and ROP

Thanks so much for the quick replies! GaiusJulius78, I completely forgot about the supply map mode, so that will help. And I will try what you suggested with the depots, and thanks for clarifying the rules that surround them. Also the information on a stalemate being ok, this is the result I always ...

Re: New to AGEOD games and ROP

Hello! Me again, and again I am looking for more help and tips. I haven't been playing the game constantly, as life doesn't allow that, but I have tried the "Maria Theresa at Bay" scenario as Prussia a number of times, and I just cannot seem to take all the major cities, let alone the stra...

Re: Fantastic Game!

I agree with GaiusJulius78 , although I am still struggling with the smaller scenarios, and am nowhere near tackling any great campaign!

I don't have loads of time to dedicate, but am doing what I can and taking my time. Great game though.

Nikel wrote:You need 1 artillery and 1 supply units to build a fort.

And 2 supply units to build a depot.

They elements should be at full strength.

Thanks for the explanation!

Re: New to AGEOD games and ROP

Once again I got further, but am not going to win as large Austrian armies have arrived and are taking back some of the cities and my forces are spread too thinly and are not strong enough to defeat them. I also had problems with supplies, which I think was my fault.

Living and learning!

Yep, it takes some time to learn. Hope you are enjoying.

Ah nice, that is what I have started to do, good to know I am on the right track.

Yep, I am so far thanks.

I too am new and am currently learning Rise of Prussia, as I read somewhere that it is a good one to start with for learning, and I am interested in Prussia in general. Enjoying it so far, and already have my eye on Thirty Years' War as I am also interested in that era.

Re: New to AGEOD games and ROP

Yeah I am beginning to understand the organising armies thing a bit more, I guess it just takes time. One thing I have noticed is that one always has to leave some troops behind in a region where a city/town is once it has been captured as otherwise the "list of objectives" doesn't mark it...

Re: New to AGEOD games and ROP

Many thanks for your replies and for all the information contained in them! I have already read "Learning from Prussia" and found it very detailed. As luck would have it, while I was waiting for my post to be improved, I played Saxony and won handsomely. Not 100% sure what I did differentl...

New to AGEOD games and ROP

Well as the title says, I am new to AGEOD games and its engine (and strategic games in general) but I read elsewhere that Rise of Prussia was an ideal game to start with to learn the system (plus I am really interested in Prussia in general, so it's a good fit). Problem is, I have no idea what I am ...
