Unable to advance to next turn

I'm not really sure what happened. but after I reloaded a previous turns save to move a unit I forgot to, I was unable to hit the save, menu or next turn buttons. pressing ESC to go to the menu still worked. saving from the Menu was fine, and after an exit and a reload, everything came back fine...

Remember that the general takes 1 element. Also, if you have attached a general to a brigade that was selected, you will run in to problems attaching it to the division.

Actually, only the stack commander counts. For stacks that are just composed of random generals, it is the first one listed, which is the general with the highest seniority.

Actually, one leader and 1 brigade CAN make a division, considering that the division button only works if you have a general selected, and it does not matter how many brigades you have selected.

It's individual units. A scouting squadron is as effective as a blockade squadron.

The number of elements in each unit does not matter.

Most of the time, you never lack the generals to make a division. don't worry about command points when 18 elements is just 4. Of course, you could argue that you can have 17 Heavy art vs. 4 divisions of light Art, but if you can afford that many art, you shouldn't worry too much about command point...

get 2 of em, send them out with a commander, and you have a very decent raiding force. Or a coastal occupation force.

As far as I know, the only ways to gain political control are: 1) Conquest of towns/objectives 2) Martial Law 3) Time (and continued occupation of the town, of the state, of the region) 4) traits of leaders (in the town, in the state.) I don't believe the # of elements or the force size matters

Brigades can not be broken down. Some (most) of the cav are 1 element (regiment) to a 'brigade'. Others are multiple to a 'brigade'. Don't think of these as brigades, really, they're more of independent commands (which is why they are 1 command point per element.) Capable of conducting raids and such.
