Re: returning to CW2 and looking for the old checklists

Many thanks.

I just want to look over the checklists to see if I can pick up any pointers.

I have read the other threads repeatedly. Just looking to save making one from scratch.

If someone has the Union, I would appreciate it.

Re: Are you still playing?

I am playing again.

I still feel like I have only scratched the surface.

I am not sure I could give a competitive Union fight, unless you were prepared for errors and willing to give some pointers.....

returning to CW2 and looking for the old checklists

Hi all, I am again playing and enjoying this great game and I wanted to try again to obtain a copy of the AACW Union and CSA checklists. The original post in the AACW forum still exists, but the link is long since dead. I am hoping an active member may still have these and be willing to share. Regar...

I am trying to find the most recent patch for BOA2.

The Matrix download site only has 1.04 as the last patch available.

Hi all,

I just purchased this as part of the Easter Sale.

How does one get the most recent patch? All links I can find in this thread are dead. THe install file is 1.01b.

Re: CW2 stopped working message

So I made some progress. If I go into the steam directory and right-click and say "Run as administrator", then the game runs. If I set the properties for the executable to be run as administrator, then the game will not run regardless of if I run it from Steam or from a shortcut on the des...

Returning to the game... and an Arty question.

Hi all, I bought the game last year, and was making good progress but then work forced me to put all war game activities to the side. So I am now back and have been playing the Shiloh scenario as the US. But I have yet to get better than a minor defeat. Even if I go over to a full out move to toward...

CW2 stopped working message

Hi All, I have been playing the game on a Dell T5600 for about a year. No problems. Recently, there was an update from Dell. After that CW2 begins to load, gets to the 52% loading textures (or therabouts) and then a message pops up indicating the CW2 has stopped working. No errors, not explanation. ...

Finding units that just are forming up or just finished forming up

Is there a way to get a list of units that you have forming up or that have just finished forming up this turn? I often find myself scratching my head trying to remember when I have units forming up and especially the units that have just completed forming up at the beginning of the turn. I can (and...

Re: Scouting with Cavalry with success

To all - thanks! To ACG: Yes I have been scouting from adjacent regions. What surprised me in a few cases was that the CSA AI attacked the CAV by moving into the region I was in and they (the CAV) were wiped out. So G/G for these units from now on. This game is really interesting, always another lay...

Scouting with Cavalry with success

Hi all, Been playing and working to figure out how to scout and screen with cavalry, but I have had a number of units completely wiped out and I am trying to figure out what I am doing incorrectly. In each case where a Cav unit was completely wiped out, (meaning hits taken equaled hits available) wa...

Newbie questions about combining stacks for combat, etc.

So I have been reading through the points to know and I just want to make sure I am understanding the comments about combining all units into a single stack and to make sure I am really understanding what a stack means. So If I have an army HQ and 2 Corps attached to this HQ in a single region, then...

So I am coming back to this with just a few additional comments: 1) I have been watching a number of the lets learn videos by Spink and the scrolling of the map in his videos is much faster and less laggy then on my system, and these videos are years old. Re: More beginner questions on forming Corps and Divisions

Hi AG. Thanks for making the time for the extra assist. After I form Wallace's corps per your instructions, I also notice that the icon to remove divisional command is also available. What is the result/benefit/loss of removing this? Why would you want for Wallace to retain it? Also, I assume that t...

Re: More beginner questions on forming Corps and Divisions

There are divisions, but they are then organized into two corps. So, armed with this information, I restarted the 1862:West scenario. The starting date is Early Feb, 1862. I see that in Montgomery, TN there is the Army of the Ohio and two corps (left Wing and Right wing). The corps both show the dia...

I think it is the case, that because of the lag, I had started a second copy of the game and didn't realize it. Now that I am more patient when launching the game, it have not had this problem.

Re: Points to Know

Well, I guess an apology is in order. Maybe it was my computer, but on the day I tried to open a number of those links all I got was a buch of errors or "could not find" messages. However, they are all working now, so it was probably a PEBCAK (Problem Exists Between Chair And Keyboard) SNAFU
