Furthermore, all Allignment I had in Poland and Russia seems to be rebel alignment now, is it of any use to keep troops there to recapture important cities?

In my game I've been effectively blocking the Atlantic whilst focussing on the east. Russia is slowly caving, but in the meantime Britain has 60-70% rebel alignment, can they have a rebel event to force them to quit?
