Ironclads vs Flatboats--Choose Flatboats!

Well, my three captured flatboats in the Norfolk harbor on defensive, managed to sink some 16 Yankee ships, inflicting over 150 hits according to my opponent. I am posting my screenshot below. We reran the turn with me setting my flatboats on green/green, and moved one of them out of the harbor, try...

Nashville is 6 regions from Louisville. If you don't have a closer depot, then Louisville is not receiving any outside supplies and never will. If you have 100% loyalty, then Louisville only has about 95 supply generated by the city, harbor and depot. So no supply is left over for the cav. P.S. Whe...

no consensus on why my cavalry adjacent to Level 3 depot is starving to death. You just took the place: "a couple of Turns". You have a much bigger unit in the supply zone demanding supply and probably don't have enough built up yet for extras for the Cav; plus, what is your RR rating? Plus, you're...

Well, interesting discussion as my take away, folks that "know" the game don't "know" the game lol. As said at start, the depot in Louisville is level 3. So....no consensus on why my cavalry adjacent to Level 3 depot is starving to death. Perhaps I just now got enough MC to have supplies flow? I hav...

That was just bad luck, because Longstreet got promoted at the same time Jackson get an army command. Because when you issued the orders for Jackson to get an army, Longstreet was still a Maj.Gen. there is no warning. Just as a tip, though, unless you are desperate to field an additional army, neve...

A 3 star Longstreet has a seniority of 10. A 3 star Jackson has a seniority of 13. Unless Jackson's seniority was improved by several points, then you did in fact pass over Longstreet for an army command. It is too bad that the game did not tell you what Longstreet's new seniority would be after pr...

No, I did not.

And GraniteStater, I assume the yup is to my second point. But the first issue was clearly not in any violation of seniority.

Longstreet is angered....and so am I

Ok, again, sigh, I don't understand this game it seems. ON turn 20, I promote Jackson to a 3 star general. On turn 21, I make Jackson an army commander and promote Longstreet to 3 star general. At NO TIME was Longstreet's seniority lower than Jackson's. I get this message, and the loss of morale and...

My Confederate cavalry besieging Harodsburg KY is slowing dying from lack of supply. Odd since for the last two turns I have held the level 3 depot in adjacent Louisville. I thought you could draw supply from depots in adjacent regions. If so, why no supply to the cavalry? The supply trace shows gre...

Can or cannot 4 ships in river prevent crossing?

I've seen it stated that 4 combat ships prohibit land units crossing rivers. Well I had the river interdicted with 4 gunboats all along the river but Forrest still crossed with 8000 men, supply wagons etc. I know he has an evasion bonus, but come on. Rosecrans and another force were after him (even ...

Is this WAD?? Confederates on the rivers

I have noticed that literally thousands of reb soldiers and their horses (partisans, copperheads, cavalry etc), can run about in the Union rear areas, and whenever they wish, summon up their magic yachts, and cruise to new points of interest in totally northern controlled areas. Come on! Should they...

It has nothing to do with the War Production Tab. I've filled that a couple of times and never had the situation where I cannot build anything. Wheat, are you using Auto-replacements? IIRC Auto-replacements will subtract from the resources CC, $ and WSU resources without displaying it at the top of...

Unable to build units

My opponent (CSA) has for the last two turns been unable to build a single unit, despite having money, conscripts, and war supplies. We are on turn 43. We thought it might be too much stuff building in the pipeline but not sure. All build choices are red at the bottom of the picture. Any explanation...

I alluded to this in another post, but the non-historical dates, locations of at least the following, when this is common historical knowledge. I really don't get it. My guess is the Butler did it in New Orleans with the Spoons! Ha! I say Pasha gets it correct with this one. But, still, in a historical sense, I am still doubtful an army commander, having lost his entire command, rides 20 miles, and seizes the units of ANOTHER ARMY COMMANDER, despite his better s...

Game balance or what?

I find it annoying, fighting 4 confederate ironclads on the rivers in 1861, when some of them weren't built till 1862. I speak here of the Manassas, Tennesse, Arkansas and forgot, the other's name. The Manassas btw, was a ram with one gun. These ships were not that reliable or maneuverable. Can't qu...

Quantrill and the French Motorcylces

Quantrill appears one region south of Rolla MO in Houston MO. In one turn he moves to Nebraska, one freakin turn. My cavalry in Rolla, one region closer, by the fastest route, will take 38 days to get to same region as Quantrill. That's two and a half turns. Through friendly territory. And did I men...

Ok, this is just craziness and needs some fixing. Benny the Butler loses a battle on turn Late April 62 at Leesburg. He retreats to Alexandria, and takes over a battle from McDowell, and loses again SAME TURN. He is wounded, and lo and behold, assigned to recovery in Alexandria VA for FIVE TURNS!!!....

Can units under siege in a fort attack out on their own without a relief force and the sally out command button? If you do have a relief force, and click the sally out with relief force, can the "locked" units participate? Siegeing a fort doesn't seem to qualify as an "attack" on locked units, but i...

In this battle, McCullough attacks with about 15000 men or so. His force is moving into the region with Bowling Green, where Grant sits as well as a force under Confederate General Cheatham, of about 15000 men. Battle results Q. One

Kearny leaves Alexandria Late March 1862 via rail with about 1200 men to go to New York. A southern partisan is sieging Annapolis, so, I use that to explain why Kearny doesn't reach New York in less than 15 days. (And really, how does 60 men besiege anything?) The next turn is processed and on day 7...

Do enemy forts fire when you land to take them

My opponent, G-Rex, seems quite miffed that I landed at Fort Pulaski, where he had even built extra coastal artillery, and they did not fire. Now, I have noticed they fire if you try to sail PAST the fort, and on up a river. But they don't seem to fire when you disembark AT the fort. Is this WAD? No...
