Re: Civil War 3 suggestion that I like so much I'm posting it again ;)

I would like to be able to have lesser generals be appointed to Army Commander. This is just a hypothetical. Without promotion the Confederates only have 4 Commanders that can control an Army. In my opinion, the South needs at least that many armies. 2 in Virginia and 2 in Tennessee. That being said...

Re: Contraband

Has anybody ever done testing on this? How many days does it speed up the process. Also, would a division repair a rail faster than a Regiment?

Contraband

Says they rebuild rails faster. How is this relevant when rails are built in 1 turn or they are not. Only thing I can think of is that if your railing someone through a line that's broken maybe it gets built faster but then my question is how fast are rails built with them and without them?

It can be done because iv done it. You merge them the same way you merge a General and a unit.

Came across this by accident

Not sure I have ever read this on the forums but by accident I merged 2 militia units together. Never knew you could do that. You can do it will volunteers as well. Also, you can merge a volunteer unit and a militia unit together. Cant figure out how to undo it though. Anybody else know how?

Re: Postures and Blockades

Thanks Gray! Quick question - Do you build more river ships? Also, I am sure you have operations in the West and Far West. Just out of curiosity, when do you usually start to really push on Richmond? I don't see how the Union could be a serious threat to it in 1861. Most of what is going on in my cu...

Re: Postures and Blockades

Just wanted to expand my knowledge on this as well so I have a few questions. Just recently finished my first full PBEM game as Confederate and now I am playing Union so I need to learn more about it. First point of concern - Blue Water Blockade - I assume that as long as blockade ships are in the b...

Re: Have battle, I do not understand the outcome.

Ill look at it in more detail later. Need to go to bed at the moment but a few things I noticed is that the Confederate Commander is a far superior General to yours especially when he is on Defense. Another thing I noticed is that although you have about double the men, you don't have "double&q...

Re: Have battle, I do not understand the outcome.

Entrenchment, River Crossings, Commanders, Weather, Terrain. Probably some other factors as well. Yeah, send a screen shot of the battle result and I can probably give you an educated guess but I may have to defer to the more experienced players.

A change i would like to see

For the purpose of staying in one region and be able to patrol I think you should be able to move through regions and end up in the same region you started.

Re: Command Ratings

Just for a side discussion, has anybody seen any of their units gain more than 5 stars in experience? On every unit there are experience stars. I have personally never seen any go above 5. I think there are 9 or 10. Has anybody ever maxed them out? I know some of the best units have descriptions lik...

Re: Kentucky Secession

Ok, ill ask it a different way. If Kentucky opts for secession, is it better for the CSA if they do it early or later. What are the pros and cons for both USA and CSA for an early secession? What are the pros and cons for both USA and CSA if the secede later on. Example answer: CSA has a lot of land...

Wanted to get some input on this.

WHAT ARE THE PROS AND CONS FOR THE FOLLOWING?

1. Early Kentucky secession for CSA
2. ............................................ for USA

3. Late Kentucky secession for CSA
4. .......................................... for USA

Plundering rules

So my opponent held City Point Va … just south of Richmond for about 2 years. When he abandoned it 2 years later it was highly loyal to the Union with 75 percent civilization. Im always short on cash as CSA so when I took it back I plundered it. Now it wont let me plunder a second time. Is there a w...

Clearing card

so there is a city (albequerque) that has a civilization level of 20. 68% loyalty to the Union. I am fairly certain I cant hold it for 6 turns. Has anybody ever used the clearing card just so you can plunder. 5k investment for 35k return.

If there is no Army inside the city then there must be any army outside of it in the region I would think. If they still have an army in the field then I don't think you can siege.

Re: Command Ratings

Maybe if they do a CW3 they can just double the ratings so it will be easier to distinguish the commanders. For example, if Grant was a 6-6-4 then in CW3 he would be a 12-12-8. That way Generals could be a little more different in command ratings. For instance I think Grant should be a 12-12-6 and L...

Have to agree with Thunder on this. Grant had all the advantages in the world over Lee and it was still very difficult for him to beat him. However, I was making this post to get peoples ideas about how maybe the command numbers should differ than what they are. If you think Grant was better than Le...

Command Ratings

Thought id do this as kind of a fun post. Does anybody think the game is generous with ratings in the game. For instance. Not sure why Albert Sydney Johnston has such a low Offensive rating He is a 4-2-1. If I am not mistaken, his Army did well at Shiloh on the offensive. If the other Union Army had...

thanks for the advice Arrow. I probably cant afford to stop spending anyways. However, I didn't get an answer to my question about the duration of the event. I was at about 13% I think. Will it go back to 13% after the event is done?
