Fallen Timbers - Tough Scenario Both Ways - Advice?

Hi... I just finished playing Fallen Timbers scenario both ways. I found it to be a very tough, but entertaining little scenario. I couldn't beat it from either side. First, I played as the USA. Seemed like the Indians were everywhere I wasn't! Once the Anthony Wayne steamroller showed up, I capture...

Buiding Forts

Can someone please help me with the specifics on how to build forts in BoA/WiA? I can't seem to find it in the manual or on this forum. I seem to recall seeing somewhere that you need a combination of supply units and artillery for the special "Build Fort" special order to become available...

Objective Cities - Blinking the Wrong Color

Hi All... not sure what I'm seeing here. I started playing Scenario #5 - Montcalm Colonial Faction and at the start of the scenario, several of the Objective Cities seem to be blinking the wrong color when I select the Strategic cities map filter. Specifically, Ft. Duquesne, Frontenac and Fortresse ...

Re: Wolfe's seige of Quebec

I was just checking old posts on WIA since I just bought the game and I saw this... Interestingly, I just got the exact same result playing the English yesterday. I had Wolfe siege for a few turns, hoping to wear down the French before an assault. Unfortunately, Wolfe made almost no progress for a c...

Re: WIA Patch 1.10e - Official Legacy = November 13, 2012

Hi... Thanks, Lodilefty, for fixing this. I just bought BiA2/WiA from Matrix. It came with version 1.01b. I patched it to 1.04c with the only patch that I could find on the Matrix site and I was wondering about a newer patch. I saw your link above a few days ago for the 1.10e version, but found the ...

Most of my family went to Lehigh, but my brother started the G-Burg thing. Now 5 of us can call ourselves Bullets! Welcome to the forum...

Regions are not all 1 or 3 Vps; they range from 1 to 4 (or maybe 5?). You have to check the Regional Ledger to see the tally. You can't see ones your opponent has, but you can always open an 1861 game as the other side and check it out. The only ones that won't be in there are Tuscon and one or two...

In the Regions Ledger you can sort by a column labeled VPs. The CSA has several that show 2. I don't know why some are 2 though, I had thought it was 1 and 3 like above. I did this, but unless I'm daft, It didn't seem like all the opponent's regions were listed. I thought maybe it had something to ...

I just worked the numbers on this about two days ago. I counted the number of strategic and objective cities under my control then compared that to my VP gain per turn. After working the math, it appears you gain 1 VP per turn for strategic cities and 3 VP per turn for objective cities. Hit the '3'...

Where Can You See Victory Point Values of Strategic Cities?

I'm having trouble determining VP values for potential strategic city targets. I can't seem to find anywhere what each city is worth in VP terms. The manual says each strategic city is worth "1-3 VP's - the value being set for each scenario." How can you find out? I bring up the strategic atlas and ...

Travails of a Newbie

Hi All... I've been posting here (a bit) but mostly lurking and trying to soak up all I can from the collective knowledge up here on the AGEOD forum. It occurred to me that I never really introduced myself, so take this as my formal intro. I've been a wargamer all my life, but this is the first AGEO...

I have had A.S. Johnston wounded TWICE in a game as an army commander at 3*'s. It seems with him, game is imitating life! He's the only 3* I have had this happen to repeatedly.

Thanks, guys. This is helpful. Let me see then... In other words: - Without a wagon or transport, units need to be in or adjacent to a region with a supply source to be safe - With a wagon or transport, you can venture 3-5 regions away, always being mindful of weather, terrain, etc. - depending on w...

Supply Clarifications & Questions

Hi All, Can someone please confirm/answer or comment on the following supply questions? I'm still learning the AGEOD game engine...

GS, Athena does not get enough credit, and she will only get better. Detail on Victory Points

Is there a way you can see exactly where, and how, VP's are accrued each turn for you and your opponent? Well, didn't have a KIA but just had A.S. Johnston wounded TWICE as an army commander playing the Western Theater scenario. Yes, I agree. The CSA is pretty hard to pin down sometimes. I have found that using the ample USA naval resources on the rivers is a pretty good tactic to slow down or pin wandering CSA units. Once the CSA units are on the "right" side of a river, just move a fleet down the river to blockade the log...
