What tech might you need to build mining structures in foreign countries?

I have a commercial agreement with Brazil and I would like to build a gold mine in the jungle. I am not able to build it because it says I lack the necessary assets due to the terrain. How do I make this happen?

The thing is that just being handed the Congo on a plate seems far worse to me that the difficulties that I've been experiencing. I don't mind it if a game nudges you in a certain direction, but there's a limit. Are you playing Belgium as well? If so, how are things going for you? No I am doing my ...

Loki I happen to be on the other side of this as Italy, now three years in. I know in your aar you had a defensive treaty with france. Was this a good idea. You believed it kept the event from firing naturally. Should I just be on good terms with france and wait for the event or do the same as you? ...

I am like you and many years away from 1870, so I have no input on that, maybe some one who has been can respond. But belgium had no interest in the congo until the likes of leopold the 2nd came around, thats for sure.

Well what you should know is that Portugal originally "owned" the coast that is the congo, and that goes back to the 1500s I think. And owned is not a correct term because things were so small in scope. As Loki said you should get those areas back later on, and thats exactly how it happened. If you ...

I would ask what your intentions or goals were? Were you trying to settle historically ahead of time? This game unlike the vickis or newer versions of europa would allow things like that. However if you ever played Europa one or two, they were highly scripted. If you were spain, you always had event...

Commercial agreements

So as Italy I noticed I am able to build structures in Switzerland and papal states without a commercial agreement? Am I correct in assuming those structures will give me their products once they are built? What is a commercial agreement for? Building in states that are not adjacent to me? Thank you...

Firstly thank you Loki for taking some time on this. It is true that fish factory is in a region that is such that the factory is not as productive by default. But the margin is positive, even given it is less productive. I am just trying to understand what margin in the games description is. In the...

I have a fishing structure...Its a weak one, and Im trying to get my head around it. I have searched the interwebs and have failed to find what I'm looking for in the manual as well. I have a fishing structure and when it is on 1 Capital expended=1 fish produced and a margin of 1. Is the margin gros...

elasticity of relations with tariff taxes...

If I am correct tariff taxes are usually default at 30%. Is there context of how much or little one would set up a tariff? Example i.e. at 30% do foreign nations decrease -5, or maybe +5 if you set to 0%. Its something continuous, decreasing /increasing each turn you have a tariff set? Or would it b...

When you are on the F11 screen; margins....

On the f11 screen when you are looking at a factory, you get to see a factory's inputs, outputs, and margin. My question is if the margin shows a profit, is it the case that (sorry if I don't articulate this well...) x input resource + x input private capital= y output resource/product and margin pr...

When and when not convert supply and munitions onto the map?

Hi, So I was wondering about these buttons, the supply and munitions conversion onto the map and what this means as well as when you would want to use them. I am asking also because as Prussia in the GC in late 1850, I have tried to construct a steamer transport, but it appears that its date of cons...
