Re: State & Goverment troops

AFAIk the units you mention would in my eyes be state troops that were handed over to the government and by that could be depicted right away as units of the PACS. I would like to see and way of allowing this handing over by the player. We currently have the training officers that do that for free ...

Re: State & Goverment troops

Well Big Duke, it seems to me that you left out the vast majority of Regiments fighting for the CSA. State raised and authorized units, i.e. the 28th Louisiana Infantry Regiment, the 38th Tennessee Infantry Regiment and the Washington Artillery (a unit from New Orleans). These ended up being what I ...

Having one installation per opponent you are playing is like having one car for each radio station somebody in your family listens to, because your radio doesn't have buttons and you have to dial in your station every time after your son has borrowed the car and left his techno hyper trance *CHUNGA...

Re: Stupid Question

Hi Durk, Thanks so much for the quick response. I have heard that there are no stupid questions, only stupid people. :innocent: When you are doing the shared hosting do you change the settings before opening the turn for each different opponent? Lets say I have three games going and all have differe...

Stupid Question

Hey Guys,

I know this is a stupid question but I just want to make sure.

If my opponent is hosting the game, do my game settings matter?

I would not think so but I'm just checking.

Thanks

AGEOD ACW2

Hi guys! I'm looking for a game. I can make several turns a day, but I may need to be away from the computer for two or three days from time to time. I am happy to play either side and any experience level. I think these seem to be the standard rules: attrition historical advanced supply veteran act...

AI Settings in PBEM

Hi guys, I hope all are well. My thoughts are with those on the US eastern seaboard. I have a few questions regarding AI settings. Do the AI settings you have on a PBEM game matter if you are playing two or more games? I want to play a game against the colonel AI while I have a couple of PBEM games ...

Has the AI gotten tougher? I've recently returned to playing after a several month absence. Playing as the Union, I was amazed at how much more aggressively the CSA is now playing (compared to memory of then). Is this just a figment of my imagination or has the AI, indeed, gotten better? thanks I h...

I guess the rail pool is somehow problematic too when I can use him completely in a single corner of the country. A "local" pool would have been great. I imaging for example to make the Mississippi and all rivers connected some kind of "Theater" and assign a local riverine pool just to be used on t...

Well, maybe it does. :bonk:

I really don't know. I just assumed it would not be realistic. It was really just a thought that maybe it gives the south an advantage. :)

But I guess it's really up to the players to decide what's best for their game.

Oh, two more.

The Foreign Intervention should be set so it does not go off and the South must declare a cotton embargo while the North must blockade .

I think three absolute rules should be that: first, no riverine movement without transports; second the North must play with McClellan until he is relieved by Lincoln, and third, Pope is the only Union general who can move east until '64. There might be more but those are all I can come up with now. C

Remove multiple army commands from the same theatre. In your situation, you want Longstreet to be able to support his friends in Harpers Ferry AND Alexandria. I run into this often when I'm playing as the Union. I'll leave Banks in Baltimore to recruit, I'll send Halleck to DC to train, I'll send G...

Disband Lee's army. Then assign Longstreet to JoJo. Then give Lee his army back. If you remove an army command and reform it before the turn is run, then you won't take any of the NM or VP penalty shown. Also, don't forget to re-assign any corps that may have lost their army during the restructurin...

You have to move one army commander away from theater. Corps will assign themselves to closest army leader and if two are about same distance then the one with higher seniority. You won't need two army commanders anyway within the same area. In my experience, corps work better working under the sam...

Corps and Armies

Hi guys! I have a question about assigning corps to armies. I have searched but have not found an answer. I hope this makes sense! Say I have Lee in Alexandria and Joe Johnston in Harper's Ferry. They both command an army and their command radius overlap. Longstreet is assigned to Lee and currently ...

I am still having the same CTD problem only this time it seems to occur after processing the turn and is more frequent.

I get: "Several errors have been generated and the application is stalling". Then CTD.

Thanks

My problem hasn't occurred again recently. I updated a driver that I think had something to do with the graphics chip, so that might have done it. I have seen seemingly inexplicable "defeats" like this fairly often, even when the battle was overwhelmingly in my favor (and just as many inexplicable "victories"). I am even willing to speculate that the victory/defeat mechanism is not working 100% correctly in edge-cases. Sometimes the stack beh...
