Military access rules in GNW scenario

I would like some clarification on military access rules for the Great Northern War. There is a decision for the coalition "Path Into Silesia" that supposedly allows access through Silesia however, I can already move my units through Silesia. I can also move through most of Germany, includ...

WOS PBEM

Looking for someone to play the new game!

Either of the two big scenarios, either side is fine with me.

Preferably able to play around evenings GMT time, so we can play several turns a day.

ECW PBEM

Looking for an opponent for English Civil War PBEM, either side.

Preferably someone able to play around evenings GMT time, since ECW turns are so short I'd prefer to play it "live".

PM me if you are interested!

Doesn't mean it's actually easy most of the time...

Re: Magazines and GHQs

Is Hindenburg combined with some troops? In that case you are not able to promote him. As long as you have only one other German GHQ, I can't think of any other reason why you would not be able to promote him. About the armies assigned to GHQ, do you really have that many armies? I am not sure how m...

I'm the Prussian player in that game. Interesting discussion. I won't say what my further strategy for the game is but it seems to me that taking out the Swedes before the Russians cross Poland is very important. With the Swedes having such terrible command I think if the Russians can integrate them...

Are you sure the game is running in 1920 x 1080? I have that resolution and it is more than enough.

If your Windows runs at 1920 x 1080 you could look into AGESettings.exe, see if the resolution is changed there.

CPU is the bottleneck. I have an SSD and I don't think it has any influence on the turn times, only when the new game turn is saved but that takes at most a few seconds. Although, not related to the game, in general I would advise everyone who buys a new PC to get a reasonably large SSD now that the...

War plan alignment bonus not applied correctly

In a recent TEAW game I selected as war plans German Moltke Plan (+10 % Austrian alignment) Austro-Hungarian Kaiser Plan (-20 % Austrian alignment) Yet, Austria starts at 80 % alignment, not 90 %. It seems the German plan bonus is not applied, propably because when its effects are applied Austria is...

You can by the way rather easily make a "do-it-yourself PBEM server" if you use Dropbox. All you have to do is put the whole folder of a PBEM game into your Dropbox and use mklink to make a Symbolic link between the Dropbox folder and your AGEOD game folder. Now you just play the game and you don't ...

Why is a 3-1-1 general better than a 2-2-2 general?

As I have not actually been able to compare them in combat, this is purely about the combat strength that is displayed. But perhaps through this question I, and maybe some others, will learn something useful about how to optimize armies! With the same army, if commanded by Christian of Anhalt, ***2-...

Huh, I just ran the first turn to test it and it seems like if the first turn is good weather, you can move past the fort with no cavalry guard and if it is bad weather it blocks you. Interesting, I didn't know that weather has an effect on zone of control. The Austrians can send an army to the same...

Fortifications and cities have a zone of control that prevents you from moving to another province where the enemy has military control. You have to send cavalry units ahead to gain military control and then you can move your other forces there. It has been a while since I last played the start of t...

Why no research system like in TEAW? Was there historically not enough new developments to warrant it?

I know very little about Napoleonic War military doctrine but didn't the Coalition armies especially implement significant changes in their armies?

You should be able to siege down Pilsen. It's too far away for the Catholic player to realistically relieve. Budweiss is a lot more difficult to take because it is near Catholic cities and the Catholic army is a lot stronger, even before Tilly arrives with the Catholic League army. In general in thi...

Military Control change

This is something very minor but it always irked me a little bit in other AGEOD games and that is that military control can only be achieved by actually moving into a province. What I would like is some kind of "bleeding over" mechanic. For example, each adjacent controlled province could give 2 % m...
