...while playing my last campaign of Civil War II, whiskey bottle next to my keyboard. And a good cigar? ;) https://img.sharetv.com/shows/characters/large/north_and_south.justin_lamotte.jpg Sadly, no. Gave up tobacc'y two years ago (saw too many smokers go down from lung and heart problems). I'll j...

Re: Is this forum dead ?

It's clear that Philippe Th. was THE guy bringing this unique historical feel of ageod games. In fact I even don't want to play other editors' games anymore (even Paradox's) thanks to this historical accuracy that I never found in any other game series (except of course Gary Grigsby's fantastic WIT...

Re: AGEOD on GOG?

A week later and the thread has over 300 views and only reply. From that I can only assume that there's an unwillingness to talk about gog or distro platforms... or there's some heavy NDAs being handed out on the business side of things. I don't understand it. Many dev and publisher companies don't ...

Re: Battle system: FOG2 or AGEod?

Will you need to own FOG2 in order to enjoy that battle feature, or will it be included as a part of Empires? Probably a stupid question, but I wasn't sure. I was imagining FOG:Empires as an adjunct to an established game. To use the FOG2 battles you need to own FOG2. As I said above, Empires is a ...

Re: How old are you guys ?

At 41 you are DEFINITIVELY NOT TOO OLD for video games, what is this nonsense!! What will you do when you retire?? No, video games are the future for all old people! Don't forget to do some sport each week though. Your body is your capital, don't waste it. I'm blue collar, so I'll probably never re...

Re: is there anybody outthere....

The younger you are, the more 'fast paced' you like all activities. The young like 'battle royales', with blitz matches of 5-15 mn (overwatch and such). The slightly older will prefer a RTS-action game, like company of heroes. And there is us, with turn based  True, but I still like my occas...

AGEOD on GOG?

Hey guys, Now that Matrix/Slitherine are releasing games on GOG, is there any chance we could see AGEOD appear as a publisher on there as well? I've been using GOG for years, and rarely purchase games outside of their shop now. I would love to have DRM-free copies of all of my strategy games, includ...

I'm still here, and browse the forums from time to time. Sadly, most forums are pretty dead nowadays. Social media has come and scooped up all the folks, I'm afraid. Back in my day, forums WERE social media. :papy:

Re: How old are you guys ?

I'll be 41 next week. Gettin' too old, even for video games. 41 is too young to be old, and too old to be young.

I'm quite frustrated as well. The setup and turn processing times are brutal in WON, so you have to spend a great deal of time just getting the game going only to watch your game crash a few turns in. I think I'm gonna put WON on the back-burner for a bit until it's properly patched.

The good - Beautiful game - Tons of potential - Attention to unit detail is incredible - AGEOD is very responsive to problems and issues. I'm very impressed so far. The bad - Problems with basic combat mechanics that should have never made it out of beta - Production system too reliant upon Regiona...

AGEOD has developed a reputation for making games that look fantastic on release but don't play as intended until after several patches. Folks by now tend to know that going in. To be fair, that statement covers about 90% of gaming publishers and developers. The term 'gone gold' isn't used much any...

I've played through a few times where the CSA AI doesn't even bother taking Norfolk, even without me reinforcing it. I don't know if it's a bug or what, but it seems odd that the AI would leave an undefended Norfolk alone. As to the naval invasion question, taking New Orleans should be an early (and...

I suppose it could have, but I don't think so. The only way intervention from UK or France would have worked was if they actually mobilized an expedition force and sent it via sea transports to the continent and worked in conjunction with CSA forces to defeat the Union. I doubt the British forces av...

I've taken Monroe a time or two, but it's not easy, and the later you wait the more the Union reinforces it. I usually just send a blocking force to Williamsburg and defend the peninsula rather than bleed out forces on Monroe that could be more beneficial elsewhere.

Xtrg,
Good campaign so far, especially out west. You're really keeping Athena on her toes. Virginia could see trouble soon. There's some huge combat power Union stacks. Hope they sit still for a while.

Are you still planning on a move towards St. Louis?

Ageod release promotion (or lack of it)

Bit frustrated. I was going to post this in the Thirty Years War forum, but I feel it covers a larger problem for all the current releases. Where's the promotion for Ageod titles? Back when Civil War came out, hell even Rise of Prussia and Pride of Nations, they all got decent coverage and reviews i...
