Re: Does this mean the AGE engine style of game is gone?

A wet grey November day so I'm idling around the web not doing admin that I should be doing. Hi Loki, glad to see you around, and thanks for the mention of SGS games. I'll look at them. I think I've got all the Ageod games. I don't think the system got out of date so much as the size of the games go...

I had a quick few turns of the Sibley/New Mexico scenario - why? - because he is mentioned in the spaghetti western movie "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly." - which was on telly the other day.

Hi Hobbes, I just happened by and saw you mention you tried making a mod for AJE. There is a Charlemagne mod for AJE: http://www.ageod-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=316&t=53090 ---------- PS - I can't even win these games on the easy settings let alone understand how to install a mod. I tend to play...

You have my sympathy Pocus. Making historical wargames is more a labour of love rather than a money spinner. Last weekend the Times had an article on the amount of money some people are earning from designing Roblox games. The link below will at least show you the beginning of the article which summ...

Re: Calling all old guard (and hiya to the new guard!)

Welcome back. The old order changeth, yielding place to new. I've never got much further than the Finns or the Fall of the North. I'm reading a book on Moorish Spain (by Richard Fletcher) he points out the Moors conquered in 4 years what took the Romans 200. That at least inspired me to fire up AJE ...

A dismal episode: "The year 1756 was disastrous for England in America, and indeed upon all fronts. Oswego, the only English fort on the Great Lakes, was lost. The campaign of 1757 was hardly more successful. The fortress of Louisburg, which commanded the Gulf of St Lawrence, had been taken by ...

History of the English Speaking Peoples

Churchill's book of the above name has some chapters on the British blunders that led to US independence.

It is well worth a read and shows how good this game is with the aggro of winter. Remember, half an inch of snow and England grinds to a halt.

Yes - at least on my Lenovo laptop with integrated graphics.

debug assertion is something to do with C++ so try searching for that.

Well another year slips by so I had a quick play of the Nathaniel Greene scenario.

I actually have a physical copy of the manual and looking through it just now I see that my generalship is on a par with Gage, Webb, and Murray ; i.e. - No Abilities :(

I played a bit of ECW on an old XP laptop the other day and it played really well. I'm still only half through reading CV Wedgwood's "The King's War" and it's nice seeing places like Lyme Regis and Basing House in a war game. But then I still fire up AACW and AJE just to drool at the maps.

AI v AI AutoTurn feature to generate pseudo-random games

I saw that there is a sort of AI v AI feature for some Ageod games mentioned in the RUS forum that is little talked about. Am I right that: You can run up to 9 turns automatically. I've tried it a bit on CW2 and AJE Is this correct: 1. Go to options, system, Error Logging - and set to on; then selec...
