Re: Why do I have supply here?

The disappearance of the screenshots should serve as a reminder not to store your stuff on the web or the cloud. The narwhal/loki aars were great.

This thread did get me to have a quick play at the 4 emperors too. AJE is a great series. Time to make sure you have some installable back ups.

Sydnam or Sydenham?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sydnam_Poyntz

There is a place in south London called Sydenham.

There is a pub called the Poyntz Arms in West Molesey - a couple of miles from Hampton Court.

Thanks loki. sorry to interrupt your AAR. I just noticed the same thing on a Hearts of Iron AAR I wanted to re-visit. I guess that's the trouble with free. It doesn't last forever.

Re: All are republican!

But some are more republican than others. I just got back from Catalonia thanks to Ryanair very generously not cancelling my flight. I think the government have played this referendum wrong. They will provoke more people to vote than otherwise would have done. Anyway, an excuse to fire this game up ...

Sorry, but that might as well be Chinese to me. Can some kind person redo the links so they work with the new forum and post it after this if the top part of the thread can't be edited? I only came here because I was about to boast about getting a Union win on the Seeing the Elephant scenario with M...

Well perhaps you can edit to say there are decisions that may lead to war supplies, or give a spoiler alert.

Re: Death by Lack of WS

Please don't give the game's secrets away. I enjoyed finding a decision I had overlooked on earlier plays. It'll become like other games where they say "wait for the "XXX" event, then declare war on Y". Fortunately I only read part of your post before realising what was happening...

Re: Civil War statues

In England some people are calling for the removal of Nelson's column.

I think that is an insult to Nelson Mandela who could have changed the Nelson bit of his name if it actually offended him.

The world is getting dafter.

All seems quiet here for a bit.

Anyway I had a quick play of Naseby as the royalists - there's some typos and odd wording on the first two info screens - Northampton is written as Nothampton I think.

Re: Hold at all costs

I just tried it a couple of times - only defending Floyd - all units on HAAC. There were three battles in the 15 days, confederates won the first two, lost the third. The next turn the confederates were all across the river but so were the Federals. Now I seem to recall that Jomini, among others, di...

Me too.

I have a DVD - "Military Strategies II" with PON on it.

First attempt did the update but it wouldn't work - flashing screens and freeze on selecting a scenario.

So, I uninstalled, and now it won't accept the serial number from the DVD .

Re: Matrix ECW and updates

The latest beta patch is from the first post on the thread 1.03RC Patch You have to check it will install to the correct directory as it is not the full final installer package. It seems to work OK for me albeit still with a couple of typo errors. Some people say there is an issue with automatic rep...

They are white on black to me, with the numbers a sort of purple! (Did you ever play Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri with the Alternate Color patch?) Yes, it seems horribly realistic.

Small armies, and troops that slip off in the night.

A castle near me was apparently beseiged in the Civil War. An initial attack was repulsed so the beseigers settled down.
The beseiged colonel slipped out in the night to see his mistress in the nearby town.

Royalist win by 6,490 to 642.

I managed to play a complete game and lose to the Royalists by 6,490 to 642. I tried all I could to get my morale down to below 25 to trigger a sudden defeat but couldn't get it below 58. I even put Cromwell and several other leaders on a boat and had them bobbing around in the North Sea for a coupl...

From Wikipedia on Bradford During the Civil War the town was garrisoned for the Parliamentarians and in 1642 was unsuccessfully attacked by Royalist forces from Leeds. Sir Thomas Fairfax took the command of the garrison and marched to meet the Duke of Newcastle but was defeated. The Parliamentarians...

That's a great review for you. Just make sure the next patch clears up as many of the niggles that people are spotting and the game can get widespread recommendation.

Can you consider producing a demo version with just one scenario so the game can be tried without commitment?

I'm playing the Naseby scenario as Royalists, all options set to default. There seems to be some strange results for the money and war supplies display in the top left.
