This is WAD, generals don't typically die when a unit is destroyed, instead they are sent to a nearby town or city and locked for a variable number of turns (while recuperating and/or reorganizing). This is the same in all AGEOD titles.

Minesweepers won't remove the mines, but having them in the fleet will mitigate some of the damage sustained moving through the minefield.

Did you switch hosts at some point?

This definitely looks like a problem with two versions of the game. The error is being thrown when the host engine isn't able to determine one of the group variables in the save file.

You can still have two GHQ's as Germany, it's just that Hindenburg isn't the next in line for seniority to get it. The same tooltip which tells you Hindenburg will cost X VP and Y NM to promote should tell you who he would be bypassing... that person can be promoted to GHQ with no penalty. The War W...

The AI is not only the engine, it can be guided or oriented or whatever you may call it. Could be wrong, but RUS Gold is considered to have the best AI in any Ageod game, if you look at the sct files with AI in the name there are 10 files, in all around 590 kb in size. EAW patch will have to wait until after WSS is finished. I've got a list of items to look into at that point though. Regarding AI, I doubt there will be a whole lot of change in this area. In August and September 1914, you can push your luck quite a bit, and to a lesser extent through the rest of 1914, but after that it becomes a 1-2 regions at a time type of thing. This is WAD to simulate WW1 trench warfare setting in.

Durk is referring to the "March to the Sound of the Guns" feature of the AGE engine. If a combat occurs, any friendly stacks adjacent to the combat have a chance of coming to join the combat if they pass certain checks. This chance is much higher (+50 IIRC) if they are part of the same OOB...

Yes (actually, IIRC, we doubled the weight of infantry elements rather than changing the rail pool, so it wouldn't impact supply distribution). IIRC, this was a change in the engine logic either during beta testing or after release. I never was able to find a perfect solution to it, but will look into it for next patch. It is just a cosmetic thing though.

The research system does not hide each faction's tech progress. This is WAD, and at this point would require a massive rewrite to hide it via the interface for FOW. I can understand the immersion concern, but not likely to change due to complexity of it.

You can do this now, but you have to load the turn up as one Entente faction, plot orders, then save (not end turn!). Then load up the other Entente faction, plot orders, save, and end turn. The orders saved for the first faction will be used.

Yes, they are supposed to transfer back (may not apply to destroyers, been a while, I'd have to check). Basically, if you leave the off-map Pacific areas with Japanese units, they should be teleported back to Japan via event. I'd have to research what's up if this isn't working properly.

Somewhat late in beta testing, it became a little clunky having a ton of events all unlock on the same turn, so we added some probabilities (mostly 25% or 33%) to the unlocking of events to give them a little bit of variability and space out the unlocks a bit. It normally doesn't take long to unlock...
