Re: Coweta, GA no railroad

A mistake made when creating the map. The line should have gone just North.
Bartow and Clark regions are connected by rail though so it shouldn't cause any
problem. During beta testing we were told that the map was pretty much set in
stone and it would take too much coding to correct it.

Re: CW hardtack bread

I suppose that every CW history buff eventually reads about the awful "hardtack" that the soldiers had to eat. Here is a video of how the "indestructible bread" is made: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vy15R6yPvR4 I've heard it wasn't so bad, if it wasn't infested with bugs. Som...

If you are cunning or lucky enough to carry the CSA into 64 you shouldn't complain about the inconvenience :P

Always good to see a vet post again! Oh boy. That means I'll be sitting over a turn for an hour or more, and Athena II will finish her magic in like 60 seconds on my computer :D ..... I'm starting to feel so old :pleure: ;) Been thinking about this. The two Phils have full rights to naming their ne...

Hey my bet is on a Vietnam game. I can't remember the name of the tribe that helped the US, I think it was montrague or something like that. lol. Those are the arrows. And strategic bombing, has to Vietnam. I do think pocus has a thing for Vietnam if I can remember right. Apologize if i'm wrong. CW...

Re: Haven't seen a traitor since beta testing ;)

Ahhh the war between brothers :siffle: If you capture a fleet in harbor with a leader on it, you will also capture the leader. It's a known bug. Ah, that makes sense then. Always good to see a vet post again! Hopefully many of you will like the new game in the making. I'll be honest, it is slightly...

Haven't seen a traitor since beta testing ;)

Back during beta testing I captured Norfolk at one time as the Union and it seems that Buchanan decided to come back to the Union fleet. A bug that later got fixed, but still rather interesting. So, I took Baltimore playing against Athena and look who decided to become a confederate. His brother, Wi...

Re: CV1 vs CV2

I started with the first game and loved it. Then I was able to be a beta tester on CW2 and it was awesome. Much better, even though similar. The map is twice the size of the first and many more features included. Some that I miss, like being able to look up individual generals and find them, but tha...

Re: Interested in a Civil War II Gold version?

I'm poor as hell but I'd come up with the money for a gold edition. If a few tweaks
could be included that would fix a few problems. I hope it happens, especially if
a CW3 is a long way off.

Re: Battle Planner Tutorial or Documentation

I have fun playing with the various options. We have very little effect on the outcome of
a battle other than how we compose our forces, so I find it entertaining. I'd love for a CW3
to have an option to micromanage a battle closer, but that would take a LOT of coding work.

Re: Suicide of Bad Generals

I've lost Meade as commander of the AoP to a stupid attack on the fort across from Fisher, and I've lost Grant in '61, which means Sherman never recovers from his depression and leaves the army, ie without Grant he doesn't spawn. Sometimes life sucks. In both these case, the first against AI, the s...

Those garrison units, if they survive an attack, can be combined with a militia unit. I've done that frequently.

It's a strange glitch that needs to be addressed in a future patch or version. Not a terrible
glitch since you still take the city if you send something else there.

Re: Civil War III

See? There is a LOT that can be worked on and improved. They don't have to call it CW3, a
new name would be more appropriate, especially with a new game engine. I'd like to see
most of those sorts of changes implemented, along with some more alternatives that involve
Mexico and perhaps even Cuba.

Re: Civil War III

I sure hope so. We'll see what the devs have to say about it. If I'm not mistaken the game engine
has been updated recently and that might help a whole lot. There are several features that would
be great if they could be added.
