Re: Battle Planner Tutorial or Documentation

I have fun playing with the various options. We have very little effect on the outcome of
a battle other than how we compose our forces, so I find it entertaining. I'd love for a CW3
to have an option to micromanage a battle closer, but that would take a LOT of coding work.

Re: Suicide of Bad Generals

I've lost Meade as commander of the AoP to a stupid attack on the fort across from Fisher, and I've lost Grant in '61, which means Sherman never recovers from his depression and leaves the army, ie without Grant he doesn't spawn. Sometimes life sucks. In both these case, the first against AI, the s...

I know several Union generals lose attributes when promoted. Not sure about stats.

Those garrison units, if they survive an attack, can be combined with a militia unit. I've done that frequently.

It's a strange glitch that needs to be addressed in a future patch or version. Not a terrible
glitch since you still take the city if you send something else there.

Re: Civil War III

See? There is a LOT that can be worked on and improved. They don't have to call it CW3, a
new name would be more appropriate, especially with a new game engine. I'd like to see
most of those sorts of changes implemented, along with some more alternatives that involve
Mexico and perhaps even Cuba.

Hi, I don't post much here, but I wanted to voice support and say I would definitely buy a Civil War III. However, please update or create a new engine. It's really starting to show its age! They have. There's even a poll on the forums to figure out what game it will be first applied to: http://www...

I don't know of a better strategy level Civil War game than this one. There are lots of ways

Re: Civil War III

I sure hope so. We'll see what the devs have to say about it. If I'm not mistaken the game engine
has been updated recently and that might help a whole lot. There are several features that would
be great if they could be added.

Re: Confederate Coastal Forts

The Union did try to use a landing party to take Fort Sumter at the Second Battle but Beauregard figured it would be tried and replaced many of the guns and crews with 320 infantry. They repelled the attempt with the loss of 8 killed, 19 wounded (105 captured) of the 400 sailors and marines who made...

in mind.

Re: Indians

Yes, IIRC you mentioned you subverted Little Crow during the Great Sioux Uprising, which would make all Indian units enemy for as long as that event is active, which allows the unmodded event to work on all 'enemy' Indian units. The same goes for CSA owned Indian Units. That's exactly what ought no...

The only time I've seen the subvert card work is on Little Crow and his force, along with
the Lipans out West. Crow is one hell of a great commander for the Union. I have never
seen the subvert card work for the CSA. :(

Re: Civil War statues

I can only speak for what I see happening in Memphis. The meaning of the 1964 erection of the statue of Jeff Davis, with no mention of his other services to the US, was quite clear. It seems that most people want that one gone in particular. It serves no other purpose since the man lived here about ...

Strom Thurmond, Jessie Helms, and several others are prime examples of how conservatives and liberals switched parties during the 1950s and 1960s. I can show you a poster from 1956 that promotes joining labor unions created by the Republican party. That same poster wouldn't fly today. When it comes ...

Re: Civil War statues

I suppose I'm closer to this than most of you. Here in Memphis we have 2 statues that really do need relocating. No one is talking about destroying them, just moving them. Let me address them in turn. Nathan B Forrest - he and his wife are buried under the statue erected near downtown. The park has ...
